Aparently, the girl had been in contact with this guy via the internet & told him about the family's plans to vacation at FtW in May. A meeting was arranged between the two of them & this guy actually gave the girl his business card!!!

The girl kept the encounter secret until a month later when she thought she might be pregnant. She told her foster parents about the encounter, & gave them the guys business card. The parents went to the Clearwater Fl. Police, who in turn went to the Orange County Sheriff & they easily located Garcia. OSCO posed as the girl on the internet & arranged another meeting at FtW & nabbed the guy.

Now....when Garcia realized the "woman" he was communicating with was really a 12 year old girl, uh...common sense would tell you to turn and run. But no! This 29 year old married man, father of two, couldn't resist. What a sicko!!! There is no punishment too heinous for people like this.

I have a very clear idea for what to do with people who prey on children and it doesnt have anything to do with a warm bed, tv and 3 hot meals a day, more like an express train to hell (or something like that)
If you prey on kids I believe you are miswired to a degree that requires your DNA lineage to come to a very abrupt end.

I feel that way about most criminals. We had a case just recently in Tampa where a man who had been arrested and jailed 5 times for sexual battery was released. The very day he was released he accosted an 85 year old woman, battered & raped her. He thankfully was caught the next day looking for a meal at a homeless shelter.

Why doesn't our justice system do society a favor and simply do away with these oxygen depleters? We've proven that rehab doesn't work, and jail time is no deterrent, so just spare the taxpayers the money & get rid of them. I think if we rid ourselves of the "bleeding heart" judges & the greedy lawyers, justice would be more "just". Don't you?

This story was on our local news this morning. It will never surprise me how the criminals become the victim and the victim becomes the criminal. These people keep getting away with crimes and they do it again.

A friend of mine's dad was hit on his bicycle Saturday at 10 a.m. by a drunk driver. The guy has had 4 dui's but only convicted for 1 because he keeps getting off on a technicality. I think baseball bats are a good punishment.

These sexual predators are scary. I was watching oreilly when they had an expert on. He said they are whackos who cannot control themselves. Also said cure rate was very low if at all.

if you look on that page, there are a few other article links. i clicked on one of those and thats where it said she was there that weekend with her family. she didn't tell them about it til june when she thought she was pregnant, she wasn't but they caught him.

we stayed at Ft. Wilderness a few years back and LOVED it! This saddens me so much! I felt so safe there, you just never know where these bad people are lurking

Not really surprising, sad to say. Anyone can park over at DTD, take a bus into FW or any other WD resort, and wander in like any other paying customer. Ride back out when they are done

When we were there, I was 99% positive that 2 groups at the pool were not paying guests.

You have to show an ID to check in, but no ID or room key check
to access the transportation system or any amenity that I came across.

Security was tighter at MK afterhours, had to show roomkeys at every ride after 10pm, although they seemed to stop checking that around 11-11:30
