Asparagus & Bacon on a Stick...REALLY???

I was just reading my Birnbaum guide to Disneyland, and one of the snack foods listed is a skewered combination of asparagus and bacon. I'm having trouble imagining (1) what this would look like, and (2) how it would taste. It sounds interesting, but not if the asparagus is at all mushy. Anybody like these things?

It is very delicious! I always get this if the line isn't too long at Bengal Bar-b-Que. It's my favorite snack at Disneyland. (Disclaimer - you have to like asparagus!)

This is one of our FAVORITES!

The asparagus is not mushy at all, and oh, it tastes SOOOOO GOOD! And I don't mean good for themepark food.....and I don't mean good for Disney food.....I mean the skewers taste wonderful enough to be served as an appetizer or side at some finer restaurants.

It's hard for me to describe what they taste like other than they have that smokey-grilled flavor, but it's not over-powering.

mmmm, my mouth waters just thinking about it. Dh and I got some to share, I ended up eating them all. He claimed he didn't mind, but I know that's just because he didn't taste them. Ours (mine) were crispy not soggy.

They're grilled, if that helps. They are not soggy.

One of my favorite snacks at Disneyland. I think there are three or four thick spears of asparagus with bacon wrapped around them & then skewered.

They're very tasty.

Absolultely wonderful. Just had these. It is about 8 short pieces of asparagus, each one wrapped with bacon, place on the skewer and then grilled. They are served with a wedge of Lime, which is perfect sqeezed over the smoky, crisp morsels. Oh yum, drooling just thinking about them.

I am trying to figure out how to make them at home for a party.
