Hi,

We stayed at AKL this past Jan. It was VERY nice, but like everyone says, we were NEVER in our room! We literally leave our room around 7am and do not return until 10-11pm. So we decided to do the Family Suite at the ASmu. Has anyone stayed there recently? Any major problems? Anything we should be forewarned about?

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) last Sept. (2006)

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no meatle bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Info thread--Pullouts in Family Suites at ASMU with photos of how the pullout is supported.

We have stayed at all the All Stars as well as the CR many times. Last summer we stayed at one of the ASMU suites and I am spoiled. They are incredible. The parents have their own bedroom, the other room has a sofa that makes into a bed, a chair and ottoman that each make into singles. 2BATHROOMS.....that was AWESOME! It made getting ready so much faster and easier for our family of 5. No more waiting, and it helped with keeping some of the heat down as well.
Not to count the small "kitchenette" that has counter space, cabinets, fridge and microwave. Now we could bring things back from the food court instead of wasting them. Even compared to the deluxe resorts, this is an actual suite, not just a bigger room.

You can find many threads (especially from "Linda") with pics and everything!

Good Luck!

Are there any other on-site value resorts that offer 1 BR suites ? We are planning to go at the end of October for about 9 nights and really want a place where we can have a separate bedroom from our daughter.

DVC resorts have 1 BR rooms, but the current rack rates are 400+/night which is really high.

Our other thought is 2 separate rooms, but we would really like a queen or king bed, and most of the moderate resort rooms have doubles I believe.

Any suggestions ??

Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear there's no metal bar in the middle of the pull-outs. I was feeling a little guilty about making the kids sleep on them instead of regualar beds. The kitchenette will be great! The DP allowed way more food than we could eat, but with no place to keep it, it just got thrown away.

I just looked at the pics you posted. I'm SOOO excited and I've still got 6 month to wait!

What about location? Are the suites really far from check-in or the food court?

Should I request a certain room/building/level?

Thank you for all your help!

The Family Suites are located in the Calypso and Jazz Inn Buildings.
Calypso Building 1 has 32 suites
Calypso Building 10 has 54 suites
Jazz Inn Building 2 has 52 suites
Jazz Inn Building 9 has 54 suites

The suites are located on all three floors, and are near each other, but none offer connecting suites. There is no price difference between the buildings.

The Calypso buildings are the preferred Buildins at All Star Music. They are the nearest to the main pool, food court and bus stop.
Jazz is next door to Calypso and they are close to the main pool, food court and bus stop also.

I am sorry but I forgot to post these liks earlier.
