My DS7 and I are staying at the ASMo and want suggestions as to which of the buildings are the best. Toy Story building seems close to food court and bus stop. This is DS first trip and I haven't been since I was a kid and want to make it the best ever.
Looking for any other advice also.

I am staying at All Star Movies too, and am going to request Toy Story Bldg 10, for the very reasons you stated. It is DN's first trip too (she's 7 too!)

Toy Story is a great building. At All Star Movies, I really don't think you can pick a bad building. Mighty Ducks and Love Bug are the only two buildings that you have to walk past another set to get to them. Movies is set up very well.

We have stayed at All Star Movies 3 times and all 3 times in the Toy Story buildings. Great location!!!

We are also staying at the Movies. Can't wait. When are you all
staying? We will be there 5 - 12 aug. DS's (10 and 8). First time
for all of us. I'm not too worried about where we will stay just hope not on bottom level.

brancam- we will overlap for a few days! Are you going to wear lime green at all? I'll look for you!

We've got Fantasia this year (that was all that was left on the FTP) Fantasia, Toy Story & Dalmatian (our fav) I think are the nicest. We had an outside room at Mighty Ducks that was really close to the sidewalk leading to busstops. I perfer ground floor and requested that, but they don't guarantee requests.

As I understand it, you will pay $10 extra per night (preferred view) for the privilege of being in the two closest buildings...Please correct if wrong.

We will be there from Aug 2-9 for my boys's first trip to WDW! We are staying at the Asmo also and have requested Toy Story! We'll be participating in the Stroller Swap so we'll have a lime green ribbon on that!!

You are correct, however, given the layout of the resort some other buildings are little - if any - further from the food court and buses than the preferred rooms are (really, it depends on where in the building your room is. Some Toy Story rooms are indeed closer than some preferred rooms. Also, while the preferred Fantasia buildings are the extra-charge rooms, only some of those preferred rooms have pool views. IMHO, it's not worth it.). Dalmatians would be the next closest buildings after Fantasia and Toy Story.

Incidentally, we just returned last Thursday from All-Star Movies, with about a week in Toy Story. I feel homesick for WDW...

I was told the perferred bldg was Fantasia and that's the one they charge $10.00 more a night for. We have gotten Dalmatian for the regular price and liked it better, since it seemed like walking all around the pool took forever.

discraz - If you haven't made up your mind yet, have you talked to your DS about which theme he likes most? You don't want to get there & then have him comment that "boy I really wish we were in "that" building!" I was first looking at AS Mo & I asked my DS 10 & DD 8 what they liked & they wanted Mighty Ducks. Yes, it is further from everything, but you can use the AS Mu for busses & eating & the Mighty Duck "quiet" pool is right there. ;) Other than that, like the other posts say, they are all pretty much the same other than the theming (outside of Love Bug).

We statyed at ASMov in Nov '03 and stayed in the Mighty Ducks section of the resort. It was the four of us (myself, wife, DS8 and DD5), and we let the kids pick out which building theme. Our 2nd floor room faced the Duck Pond pool, and the hotel is so well laid out that all sections are rather closer to the main building. You'll have a wonderful time either way.
