We have reservations at 12:00 for lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. We will be driving from All-Star Movies. How long should we leave for travel time? It looks like the parking lot is far from MK. What will we need to do once we park? I have looked up where the restaurant is and feel comfortable of easily getting there once inside MK.

I would leave ASMo no less than 60 minutes before your reservation. Once parked, you still have a good 30-45 minutes to actually enter Mk's gates--as a tram and either a ferry or monorail ride are still in your future.

You may want to consider a bus, it will likely take 30 minutes off your transit time. The bus skips all of the above shenanigans.

Thank you!

I want to second what Mesaboy said. I've gone from Movies to Liberty Tree for dinner before and we were caught in a massive rainstorm. I'm so glad we took the bus. We were already late because of the rain and transportation taking longer...but it wouldn't have been any faster to drive and then take the ferry or tram. It would've meant more time in the rain.

Definitely take the bus, but I would still give yourself an hour for bag check, entering with ticket, and just walking over there without killing yourself to be on time.

Yup, everyone is right on the money here, driving to MK is a disaster, well, at least if you are trying to save time. The parking lot is a mile from the park, you have to stop to pay to park, then you park, then take a tram to the front of the parking lot, then take either the monorail, or the ferry to get to the park entrance, then at that point, you have the same walk, bag check, ticket / entry procedure you have to go through if you take the bus. The bus bypasses the whole bit where you pay to park, park, take the tram, and then take the ferry or monorail, probably a good 30 minutes plus worth of craziness there.

Thank you, everyone! We will plan to take the bus.

You've gotten great advice! I'd never drive to the MK. Epcot, AK, HS, yes. Resort hotels, yes. Magic Kingdom & Downtown Disney, an emphatic no. :)

Good to know about DTD also. We will ride the bus for both of those locations. :thanks:
