i can't decide between the two which one do you prefer. We are 27 and 29 years old. We are going from Dec 6-14. Also which building do you like better. Location does not matter

I would pick all star movies because (1st it is sooo cute) and because they seem to have the tour groups / cheerleader / etc... groups in the music and sports buildings first. Leaving allstar movies more for the families and visitors to wdw. Personally I would rather be with family types even if we were just 2 adults than a bunch to cheerleader / teen groups/ &/or tour groups etc...?

MKY :D

Hi there! DF and I are right around your ages (I'm 23, he's 28) and we decided on the ASMu for our fall trip. Reason? I've read a lot about both resorts, and from what I understand, ASMo is themed a little bit more for younger kids and families, while ASMu is themed a little bit more for the older crowd. Both resorts appeal to all ages, of course, but I think with a more generic theme like music, you just can't go wrong. The ASMo sounds great, but being the newest of the two and also the most obvious in the Disney theming, I'd say you could count on it being more crowded with families than the ASMu. I just read another member's post about their recent visit to the ASMu, and they said that they noticed way more guests at the ASMo, and there was always a significant line for the busses, whereas at ASMu there was rarely a line and the resort was much less crowded.

Just a thought for you. We'll be at the ASMu between Sept. 28 - Oct. 5, so I'll be happy to let you know how things go when we return! Best of luck with your trip plans!

I pick Music

we've stayed at both, and had a miserable time at Movies. Someone was actrually painting our room while we were out.

Sport was awesome, except their parking leaves something to be disired.

If i had to reccomend where not to stay,
It would be Not to stay at AS Movies!

Hands down- Movies!!! I thought the Music was pretty boring in the theming department and it's older. The Movies was great, better resort layout and better themes(really cute!)

I wouldn't count on 1 having less families then the other because they're value resorts they attract MANY families. But I agree with mkymouse4ever in that the Movies will have less groups(cheerleaders, school groups etc) and they are always pretty loud.

Well, we've only stayed at Sports, which was fine for what we needed, but I have heard on the boards that the Music tends to have a higher adult ratio. It may be a little more quiet and relaxed for you since you are not going with any children. I would definetly stay at Music for a value resort for that reason.

PoohSizedDH you obviously have had a bad experience. One that I laughed at when I first read your experience, but your experience is not the norm AT ALL. How many people can say their room was painted while they were occupying the room at any hotel/motel in the world. A better post would be to refer readers to the thread where many people loved the ASMo and you clearly explained what happened in your situation.

Kelly's Love, it depends if you are worried about crowds or not. ASMu is the most popular one of the three and fills up faster than the others. I do not know if you will be taking the buses or using your on vehicle but at ASMu the wait is much longer for the buses. Enjoy your trip.

Hi KL,

I've stayed at ASMU and ASSp with both my family and my girlfriends during Soap Weekend. I've never had a bad experience. The pools, food , accomodations and service are pretty great for the price. What sells the resort, (imho) is the bus service to and from the parks. It's nice to be on vacation and have someone else do the driving for you without any hassle. You can sit back and go from your hotel to the park gate. It is reason I have stayed on site all these trips. My next trip is scheduled for late August this year. We will be at ASMo. I tried to get my boys to try a moderate like CB or PO but they had never stayed at ASMo and wanted to try it for the Mighty Ducks section. I was able to get them to split the week so we will be staying at the HRH at US as well. The one thing that is great about Orlando is that you have plenty of options! Whatever accommodations you choose, enjoy!

To make a long story short, my great rate that I was going to get at the Swan for a Club level room, just feel through, and really don't want to stay in a standard room there.

I was looking at the really good price that the WDW website was quoting for the AS-Sports and was wondering which resort would be better for a solo trip Dec 26 to Jan 3.

Any and all information would be great

Thanks,

I don't understand how the resort would let the guests stay in that room if they are painting that room. Everyone knows that inhaling the paint is health hazard. Besides the room was being painted while there...did you like the resort? Was the service adequate? Sorry you had a miserable time there. I'm sure if they weren't working on your room it might have been a different experience.

I've stayed at all three, and sports twice, and I prefer Music. It seems a little calmer than the other two and the theming is a bit more adult. Still Disney over the top but a little more adult oriented.

I have stayed at both Movies and Music and I have to say I prefer Movies. I just feel the theming is so much better. We stayed in the Woody building of the Toy Story section overlooking Andy's room. Our kids (2 and 5 at the time) loved playing in Andy's room every night on our way back to our room, we even saw adults hopping around on the big checker board:D

I had left a rather detailed post as to why i didnt like Movies. You can find it by doing a search with my name. Im not sure how far back in the threads it is.

to some it up.

after arriving an hour early, we still waited till 45 minutes after checkin before we were issued our room,

Maintainance spot painting our room ( according to her, she does it to 32 rooms a day, to rem,ove the black smudges on the walls, according to the manager, it should not have happened at all ever.. who to believe, who to believe, the worker doing their job, or the manager trying to cover it up)

very "un DISNEY LIKE" in there interaction. the manager suggested we let the room air out by opening the door while we went out to lunch

we stayed at all three all stars, and of the three I thought movies was the worst. Didnt think there was a better way to post that to give my opinion on the thread topic.
