cannot deside which one to stay at. :confused3
I am coming with the wife and 2 kids, age 13 and 11...
while price does matter, what are the pros and cons of each one? I have stayed at the AS S once before, but it was at least 8 years ago
any info would be great
thanks

I was in the same boat as you, trying to decide between POP and CBR. I think with the older kids, CBR is a better choice. For one, the rooms are almost 100sf larger, so you won't be falling all over each other. CBR also has a complimentary fridge, so you can get lunch meat, snacks and drinks to keep in the room to save some money on food. The main pool is also pretty neat at CBR. We are also looking forward to possibly renting a boat there, which you can't do at ASMo. I've also heard that you can see the Epcot fireworks at CBR (depending on where you are of course). The only thing about CBR is, the resort is huge, so lots of walking unless you get a preferred location.

Good luck with your decision!

Having stayed at both, I can guarantee you if you can afford CBR, you will never want to stay at a value resort again. At least I know I won't. JMO :earsboy:

We stayed at ASMu in 2003 and are staying at CBR this December. Me, dh, ds (8) and dd(15).... complimentary coffee maker and bigger room were the 2 main reasons, but also I wanted the tropical atmosphere instead of the incredibly stimulating atmosphere of the values, my son has issues... :teeth:

I have stayed at both resorts. CBR is definitely a nicer resort. ASM is a value resort and with an emphasis on value. CBR has nicer pools, a full service and food court restaurant, beautiful grounds and bigger rooms. Unless you can get a terrific code rate at the value, I'd opt for a moderate.

You won't be disappointed at CBR. While it is a little more expensive the amenities are so much nicer. The grounds are nicely landscaped and the pools are much nicer. Of course, you only spend a small amount of your time in your room. Me? I'd go CBR again. :daisy:

thanks for the info, a couple more questions....how about the bus service? and the refillable mugs...how is the food in food court, and what about the resturants there also
thanks again for the info, you guys are great. :worship:

We stayed at CBR almost 4 years ago when my sons were 13 and 10 years old. We all LOVED that resort! In fact, when it came time to move to the Grand Floridian my younger son was upset. LOL (He quickly got used to the GF and ended up loving that resort too!). Each resort has its own special appeal, I think your family will really enjoy CBR.

Another good thing about CBR is the privacy curtain between the bathroom/sink/changing area and the rest of the room. Not sure if the value resorts have a privacy curtain or not. It came in very handy when one of us was getting out of the shower and needed privacy to get dressed.

If you click on the link in my signature it will take you to my web site where I have a lot of pictures from our 2 stays at CBR, from May 2001 and Feb 2002.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation :)

P.S. Regarding the mugs, you can refill them in the food court area at Old Port Royale. The new sit-down restaurant is called Shutters and I've many very good reviews. During our 2 visits to CBR the bus service was EXCELLENT! :sunny:
