I'm Back!!!!

I had to cancel a vacation a year ago, but I am planning a vacation for January of 2004.

I need to stay at a value resort and I think my kids, 7 and 5, will enjoy the Movies theme the most. But, I think my parents and my wife's parents might enjoy the Pop Century the most. I'm looking for anyone that has stayed at the Movies resort and can give advice. What rooms are better? Is the preferred view worth the extra? Also, if I choose the Pop Century, which buildings are best located?

Since my time to go is in January, I'm trying to get the reservations taken care of so I can book my advance seatings, etc.

Just so everyone has all the information to give me the best advice, I am going with my wife, 3 kids, 7, 5, and 1 along with both sets of parents. So I will be getting 3 rooms.

I'm very excited about getting back to Disney, my wife and I haven't been in about 9 years. I absolutely love the boards and will spend countless hours researching to make the most of our trip.

Thanks in advance to everyone....

I would pick PC because it's a new resort. Tyler, one of the WDW bus drivers started a thread about PC a few days ago. It has some great info and photos about the resort.

Hi,

Just about 1 hour ago I got ahold of a CRO reservation agent who was able to find an AP rate for $49 a night ($54.88 w/tax) for all 8 nights = $439.04 the entire stay :D .

I called back and double checked the a different agent since the systems are not working and was told that my room only reservations was made and that onlythe package reservations.
systems were down.

If it was me, I would stay at CP since it is newer.

I read Tylers entire post about PC and I'm gonna give it a try! I agree, Tyler needs a commission.... Figure if I run into him, I'll at least have to tip him. ;)

I called and booked three rooms for my dates in January and spoke with Hilda at CRO directly. I asked for a preferred building and was quoted $87 a night. She stated there were currently no promotions listed for that period of time but I should keep checking back. I'm not an AP holder, so I'll keep checking. I am a AAA member, so I'll have to inquire about that discount also.

Thanks for the advice,

I'll be living on the boards for the next few months.

Thanks,

Dennis :smooth:

I have reservations for the 3rd to the 7th of Feb. using CAA which is the same thing as AAA.

In regards to preferred buildings... just so you know, Pop Century is laid out much more efficiently than the All-Stars. As such, even the furthest building isn't too far. The 60's is the Preferred section, and the 50's and 70's are also quite close, and in some instances, closer.

I didn't get a chance to take a look at the 70's buildings, but the 60s looked to be the most brightly colored of the bunch. Very... umm... groovy. :)

Thanks Tyler,

I know you mentioned all the buildings are relativley close, but my wife is a fan of the 60's and her parents are going and they were part of the 60's and talk about that era alot, so I thought they would enjoy that one.

You mentioned that one of the two 60's buildings have Mogli theme. If I asked for that building, do you know of the best way to describe it? Or just the Mogli theme will be good enough?

Thanks in advance,

Dennis
