I am planning to ask my friends to be in my wedding and I really want to make it special. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for a wonderful "proposal?" :yay:

I purchased black photo frames from Target. I hunted through my scrapbooking supplies and found creamy colored paper and silvery sticky letters. I went to Micheal's and found those awesome fabric "stickers" than are so beautiful. I found them in a black dress with heels, limo, invitation, etc., and also in a wedding dress. IMO, the black dress looked better. Went home and cut my cream colored paper to fit into the back of the frame. Make sure you're using only the part you can see to do the rest of the handy work! I put, "Will you be my bridesmaid?" on with the cream colored paper at the top and bottom of the frame area with the sticky letters. In the middle, I put the black dress and a few other little embellishments that came on same sheet as the stickers. One of them happend to be a bouquet and wedding invitation! Wrapped them up in a wedding wrapping paper and sent them to the girls. It was a huge hit! They all loved them! It fit us really well because it was a black/white/silver wedding.

I love that photo frame idea! sounds wonderful. I actually didn't have bridesmaids, my wedding party was all guys (i have 3 brothers and i had a small wedding). Anyways, i think the frame idea is great. Maybe you can meet your girls for lunch and have the frames come out with dessert or something so you are there to see their faces. Or have some kind of invitation come to the table by the waitor, maybe something like "Ladies, i have just received an important invitation for you!" Well, something along those lines.

Wish i could be more help. I actually, wished, i had thought of that. I would have done something special too. Oh well, maybe i could do a commerative photo frame like that and mail it to them as a thank you for being a part of the wedding? That is such a great idea, and not that expensive. But, even though not too expensive, very precious and memorable.

Good Luck to you, Can't wait to hear what you do with this. Such a marvelous idea ladies, something special as an invite. So jealous now that i didn't think of it...LOL.

Have A Magical Day!!

Such great ideas! I am taking the girls to brunch over the weekend, I will use a little bit of all of the ideas.

I was going to do something cute, actually made minnie mouse cookies and tried to write "bridesmaid" on them...I was in a rush so they didn't turn out so well, so in the end, I just sort of unceremoniously asked them b/c it was getting closer to the wedding...

I asked my girls over the weekend and it was super! I made each girl a small bouquet of flowers and attached a personalized poem with each bouquet. I had the flowers set out on a table with champagne and asked the girls to meet me for brunch. When everyone was there, we were escorted to our table where I told the girls to find their name and read the card.

It was really sweet and quite a surprise. http://www.ultimatewedding.com/poems/ They have a great selection of poems for all wedding occasions (i switched some of the verses around to make it work for each girl).

One of my bridesmaids is my sister and lives in the same town as I do. The other lives 4 states away. I went to cookies by design (they have a store in my town, but they are also online) because they are liscensed to do Disney stuff. I got some of the disney & some of the wedding cookies and asked them to write "Will you be my Matron of Honor?" on one of them. For the one that lives out of state, I did similarly for the one out of town - but had them send a gift basket with a note.

I really didn't ask my Maid of Honor. I just kinda srung it on her. ;)
FDH and I were talking about some things that we wanted there and Shiela (My Maid of Honor who was in complete shock) said "WOW you guys are getting married." I said Yes on April 15, 2006. Then I kinda told her that she was going to be in the wedding as my Maid of Honor. At first she was kinda nervous about the whole thing, but now I think she is warming up to the idea. :cheer2:
