We like the food at Akershus. I think it was more adventurous before it went all princess, all the time. Right now, there are at least 3 dishes that are pretty standard fare. They are:
Baked Salmon
topped with spicy mustard with warm roasted red skin potatoes, baby watercress and an
apple, corn & bacon vinaigrette
I dont' remember the mustard as being very spicy, but you could always order it without, or on the side.
Pasta Akershus
Pasta and sauteed garden vegetables with a fresh herb, roasted garlic pesto
(topped with grilled chicken or salmon upon request)
Topped with Salmon-you can get it without or also with chicken.
Fresh Poached Cod
With seafood and shrimp medley, Julienne Vegetables and Horseradish Mashed Potatoes (you could probably substitute if you don't want the horseradish)
The kid's menu is pretty basic. All the normal choices
The Dinner Entree Selections include:
Grilled Chicken Breast or
Grilled Salmon (served with corn and boiled potatoes),
Cheese Ravioli,
Pasta and Meatballs,
Hot Dog (served with corn),
Cheese Pizza, and
Viking Turkey & Cheese Roll Up (served with grapes).
My DD8 had the
cheese pizza last time.
The ribs and the lamb sound pretty good too. If you are concerned with a certain ingredient, or sauce, I know we order a chicken dish a few years ago with the glaze and got it on the side. Turns out my niece liked the glaze anyway.
Here's a few of the
cold buffet. It does have a few interesting choices (like the cheese they say tastes like chocolate (it doesn't). But there are some good cold salads, peel and eat shrimp, breads and cheeses, and it's all you care to eat.

The breakfast is good too, I just find it a little more hectic. But the cinnamon rolls are really good! (not sure if they are still offered

)
HTH!
