Ok didn't I say the question would start to flow !!!!

Can anyone tell me how early we should arrive at Ashford ?

I know it says 30 mins (?) before on the ticket but we have to park the car - is this fairly straightforward to do at the Ashford terminal ?

Is storing your luggage on the train ok bearing in mind most people have already joined the train in London.

Has anyone bought sandwiches etc on the train, is there much choice and is it really expensive or is there somewhere to buy from at the station. Just thinking if we eat something on the train we can head straight in to the park as ds (and dh ha ha) will be fed and watered well until the next snack time anyway.

I would give yourself 15 mins get from the car park, you need to get across the bridge from the car park (all inside and covered!!) and the lifts in the carpark can be slow (and always packed!) - you then have to get through the main station to the eurostar section

You can get pastries and sanwiches in the waiting area/departure lounge - they are probably cheaper than the train.

Or if you can spare the time a couple of minutes drive from the station is asda, or a tesco local. Sandwiches and drinks would be much cheaper from there.

There's a lot of luggage racks at the start of each section of train and overhead storage too for smaller bags. There was plenty of room left when we went, suprising the amount of people that get on at Ashford! You shouldn't struggle

Oh and we found the food on the train to be quite expensive and the queue to get to the food counter quite horrendous!

We wnt from Ashford on Monday and it was really easy. we parked on the same level as the walkway through to the station-level 5, there were lots of spaces and this was on Easter monday. We picked up our tickets and went through security with no queues at all. this was about an hour before the train was due to leave we had allowed plenty of time for traffic.
In the waiting area there are some tables with duplo etc for the children to play with and they can see the trains which keeps them entertained.
we bought bacon sandwiches for breakfast which were £3. I would buy from here rather than on the train as it was more expensive there, plus they didnt have any child friendly sandwiches eg plain ham, cheese etc . My 2 shared a hot folded over pizza thing on the way back which looked gross but it was the best we could see.

Never had a problem with any of the points you've raised, even when we had 2 families there was enough storage space for the cases .

When I travelled I never bought anything on the train but many did around me and they were gone for about 30-40 minutes. No way would I queue that long.

yes train food is expensive, we bought a pot of pasta which was really tasty but extortionately priced!

Perhaps they're getting in practise for being in the Park.

I found it easier to take smaller bags that would go in the over head racks. When we went with larger cases and used the racks near the doors we had to move other passengers' luggage, pushchairs and Mickey Mouse balloons (!) to get to ours!

That would be good except it was on the return journey On the outward trip I think people bought food from the terminal building.
