I did it! Everyone ignore what I posted yesterday about not changing -what was I thinking?
So we are booked the first 5 nights at VWL/one bedroom and then we throw our stuff onto the balcony of WL/CL for 8 nights! Thanks for your words of encouragement!
I priced the DxDP and was quoted around $85 PP/PD with tax. I priced it out only because we aren't doing CL and we can add it to our RO reservation since it's a military booking. Christine, if you aren't doing CL, I would try it or I would try the DDP. If you have TIW, then I would just use that and then you can order/eat exactly what you want. You also need to take into consideration all the tipping associated with 3TS credits per day.
I'm really not a proponent of the DDP IF you have TIW and/or you're doing CL. It's just not a good deal then. But for us, it would only be for 5 nights of our trip when we don't have CL and DD really would like to try it, so we'll see if I can come up with 5 days of one 2TS meal and one 1TS meal per day...

Happy weekend everyone!Had a garage sale this morning to raise funds for Disney trip someday
...DD's don't know we are going! (yes I may have mentioned that already!) BUT because it was so nice here, we raced to garden centre and bought plants for our newly created garden. I love it...it's amazing what a little greenery can do!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend...![]()
Just checking in! Having breakfast while DH sleeps. Everything is wonderful and Poly CL is pretty amazing--they've been great to us! We were up late last night so we're getting a late start today. Hope all is well! DH begged for WL in Sept???? Oh boy, its starting already lol.
Well, those of you who are my FB friends have seen my post about replanning our trip. Since I originally planned it out when we were going to do a split stay, I had booked a lot of ADRs and planned full days for our first 4 days when we were going to do Pop or POR. Now that we are doing all 12 nights at the Poly, I am spreading things out and trying to schedule a day of rest every 3 days. Only Danimal and I will have an AP so we need to only have 10 park days out of 13. So far our arrival day and cabana day are non-park days. I'm trying to get a WCC lunch ADR but so far there are non on my preferred days at workable times. I won't give up though. If I can get a good 'Ohana reservation I can sure as shoot get a good WCC one!
...and there it is...
I guess I am a control freak...and you know what? I let DH call and make the change...and it felt good. And he was happy...
That is all.![]()
Ok, Ladies...opinions!!
WOuld you miss a disney trip for a cruise? Oh and DH STILL doesn't want to downgrade to be able to do this May trip. No way no how he says. Sorry I know this doesn't really fit with RC ing but just thought I would throw it out here anyway!![]()
Since I can't decide between which resort...Can I book two??
So far I have WL/ WV room booked 6 nights w/ dining. For the same price (OK plus$3 more) I can get YC/SV w/ dining. I am torn as I love both resorts. I don't want to lose the deal we have with WL (Disney Visa free dining which ends may 18) and the YC (MYW vacay package ends julyish??) I don't want to lose the opportunity to get the YC room (BC is all full as of now). If my husband were to book the room and we were to cancel one when we decided which resort to stay at...is that possible??? Is that bad? I hate to hold 2 rooms at 2 different resorts when someone else could be booking it too! I can't decide between the two. I love them both and they both have pros and cons
WL- Pro- close to MK- close to dining (we have ADR's at Kona Cafe, Ohanas, & HHDR) Love the decor in the lobby- love the boat ride to the monorail or MK
YC- Pro- Love the bigger rooms- better pool- closer to Epcot (my fav)- closer to HS (my Husbands fav) other half ADR's at HS & E & DTD !!!
Looks like the Pros have made my decision!! Maybe I should just change to YC!!!

VWL? Did I say VWL? Ummm, that sort of got changed today to CRWDWKOOK, I just read yesterday's posts. I think the VWL/CL WL split is a good one!A little privacy (I hadn't really thought about 3 of you for 13 days in a WL room) is a good thing
I would keep checking for a 1 BR in BLT, you never know. I also have found a couple of times, once you get very close to the trip things tend to open up with a discount. I don't know if it's true, but I think a week or so ahead of time more of the discounted rooms are put into the pool. It's better business to have a room booked at a discount than empty! As for the DDP, we used it once and really didn't care for it. We just found it restrictive and we just wouldn't eat enough to justify the deluxe plan. There are times when I want an appetizer and dessert for dinner and that doesn't work on the DDP. We also have TIW which I love. If pricing out the DxDP brings it to $85 per person a day, lets add a 20% tip, so you would be around $100 a day. That is probably a bit less than a TS breakfast and a 2TS credit dinner, even with TIW. However, would you do that for 5 straight days?

Oh, I'm glad your boys liked the rehabbed room photosHello, RCers!
KOOK I saw all the great photos you posted and our boys are now thinking about how to fit a WL stay into our multi-split next year!
So lots of RCing going on here! (By the way, the RC to the Ritz Carlton in D.C. last weekend ended up working VERY well!) I'm booking a local weekend trip for our family with my parents in the fall, and I've already RCed that once in two days! I've also RCed our pre-cruise stay in Seattle for August. But the most relevant RCing we've done is related to our imaginary August trip. All three boys vote for a hypothetical CR/BC CL split. I was thinking CR/Poly and then either YC or BC. But they all vote for CR and then BC CL. Again, that's all hypothetical, so we'll see what happens!
Well, darn....unfortunately, I cannot help with the 1 bedroom dilemma....I have stayed in a 1 bdrm twice, but VWL was a studio...and I truly LOVED it...more than the Lodge room we had for a day. Unless the Villa has been recently refurbed (OKW) or new (Kidani), then updates have been few and far between and it will depend on the unit - if it is not in acceptable condition, then just go to the front desk and ask for another. You know I think it would be very nice to experience the other side of the Lodge - but you do take the chance of missing being able to go up to the CL floor.
As for the one bathroom - sure a second would be nice, but it is really a deal breaker?
Don't give up on BLT if you'd like to try it....you know how availability can change almost hourly at times.
Speaking of BLT - we are definitely confirmed in a std view studio for our December birthday trip! Not my first choice, but it will be fun to experience a different resort...and I've been missing CR, but have not been able to convince myself to stay there again for years! Very happy to be renting points - great value.
Okay...I'll be waiting to hear the decision!Whatever you decide will be great!!

My date was not only the most handsome, but the youngest escortDS11 was SO well behaved it was LONG. But I am happy I went. I went up with the other nominees and I didn't win...which is ok but I was like, why did they make me come? 2 people keptsaing stay til the end. The only award after mine was the Team award (on the pamphlet I had) so I was a litte perplexed. But it was fine. DS was enjoying his soda and snacks...and I had champagne...all good. Then the Directors of Nursing took stage to announce a very special award. The Daisy Award for extraordinary nurses...and the winner is......uh yeah, didn't realize my name was callled....then they read all this nice stuff about me...picture me crying and red-faced. DS was in the second row two thumbs up in the air...PURE MAGIC
This is one of the proudest moments in my career! I was told I was the epitome of a Daisy nurse, and after reading the book about what it represents, I am proud to be a Daisy nurse ....mind you after today (working 3 nurses short) my happiness may be short lived....

Hello, RCers!
First, Pas, just wanted to send many, many hugs to you:Wow - what a wonderful description of your evening and of your award. Just wow! So happy fo you!
Mousemommy, I love so many different resorts, so take this for what it's worth, but we love Poly! It's (currently) my favorite MK resort and I've loved it since the early 80's. Just stayed there last year and still love it! And I can say that, while I like to make the vacation decisions, when my husband voices a preference, I always like to honor it. It almost always turns out well - that split second decision he makes can sometimes be even better than the decision I made after hours of research and consideration! (Kind of annoying, huh?)
KOOK I saw all the great photos you posted and our boys are now thinking about how to fit a WL stay into our multi-split next year!
Jenny, we've been to WDW many, many times and we tried the Dream for the first time last year. We're doing the Wonder to Alaska this summer. But I do have to say that as many times as we've been to WDW, we'd still choose it over a cruise out of Florida. Hard to say why - maybe the fun and nostalgia of the parks, along with the restaurants and all the resort choices! WDW feels like a more active vacation to us (although we're hoping Alaska will be active!) And I guess in the end, I feel WDW is a better value. But I do think a cruise is fun to try at least once. OK, I'm absolutely no help!
Hi jenna! I should start by admitting that I really like WL, but we are quite partial to BC/YC. And I've been an Epcot girl since childhood. So I'd vote for YC! We often have dinner ADRs in Epcot and there's nothing like walking out the International Gateway back to our room - so relaxing and a great end to the evening. And SAB is a huge draw for us, too. Good luck with your decision!
Hi Luv! Great to hear that you're enjoying CL at Poly - if you and padawans come back with good reviews, I think we'll be booking CL at Poly instead of regular GV for next year!
VWL? Did I say VWL? Ummm, that sort of got changed today to CR. You see, when I booked VWL yesterday, I really wanted BLT, but it wasn't available so my second choice was VWL. Today, I had resort changing regret so I called again to see if BLT was available, and it wasn't. Somehow, VWL got changed in a flash to CR. We REALLY wanted to try a Deluxe room in the Garden Wing and it was available at rack rate, but not with the discount, so I booked Tower/BLV, which we love. I'll keep trying for BLT since we'd prefer the one bedroom.
I'm still not feeling settled though (notice I never changed my ticker). I now keep thinking that the CR BLV non-CL room is the exact same price as the WL/CL room. So I feel silly having changed. Plus, I (thought) I really wanted a one bedroom, but I canceled it. We do love the CR and I am concerned that 13 nights might be too many in one room at the same resort??? I think 8 or 9 is the maximum the 3 of us have spent in a standard room at a Deluxe. Ugh. I had the 13 nights booked, but got worried that was too long, then switched to the villa, but not the exact one we wanted to try and now look at me. Suggestions anyone???
Thanks for your DDP input. I've decided against it for the same reason I always do - TIW is a better value because you only buy what you want and therefore only tip on what you want to buy. I promised DD since we're not doing CL the first 5 nights, we'll buy the mugs and eat more TS breakfasts
Oh, I'm glad your boys liked the rehabbed room photos. Would you get a bunk bedroom? I think your boys would love being next to FW and as you know, the resort is beautiful and there's lots to do outdoors.
Let me know when you're coming back to NoVA! You have done a lot of RCing - and partly for an imaginary trip. Those can be a lot of fun

Very glad you've had great experience at HRH...I miss Disney...but I am a short ride away...and if I leave DH at US no guilt...a quick walk to the parks (or that great boat ride)Pas, Glad to hear the night was a success! I was scared there for a minute thinking you were not going to recieve anything as well....boy was I happy to hear you got the Daisy Award!! Much deserved, and you should be very proud, what an amazing accomplishement!
I just realized I was worried for nothing....I thought it was HRH trip you where changing to non-disney, and I got worried I might not see you on the monorail loop! I see now, it's your UPCOMIMG trip that's changed to non-disney (doesn't your ticker say it's a birthday celebration trip too???) I think that's what confused me! I think HRH is a wonderful idea! actually, I couldn't come to Orlando without going back there.....I Love Universal!!! and I love the hotel...they treat you so nice, like a true rock star!
The later flight is great..maybe even a leisurely brunchPas,
Congratulations on your Daisy Award!! It was wonderful to hear you were honored.
We leave Orlando in Oct at 3:40pm!!!
I might just have to squeeze in a little more time at Epcot that day.![]()
So did you book a split???? If not sounds like YC is perfect for youSince I can't decide between which resort...Can I book two??

Congratulations on your award Jeanette. We all know how special you are, it's good to know others do also. And, I love your date, DS must have been happy and proud to be with his Mom when you got the award. You seem to have the magic touch in knowing how to make each of your children feel special
Now then pas, you get the award for the most radical change of all. Didn't see that one coming You all will have a wonderful time no matter where you are...and you have that amazing trip at the end of Sept. booked. Can't see that one changing
Thank you Christine!!! Very proud night for me!!!!Oh, Jeannette....I am crying happy and proud tears for you!!!We all know how special you are and we all know you would be an incredible nurse...but to have this recognition from your peers......and of all things, it is called a Daisy Award!!! So, so happy for you!! CONGRATULATIONS, dear friend!!!
As for WL CL - we will experience that in January, remember?!?! I can hardly wait!!!!
But did I read right...no Disney in May? Not at all? Well, that will just make your Mommy & HRH trip in Sept even more special!
So I almost commented....until I saw your next changeI did it! Everyone ignore what I posted yesterday about not changing -what was I thinking?

Jeannette, my friend... Congratulations to you on receiving this wonderful award! I'm so happy for you!
The caring, dedication and excellence you bring every day to your patients makes you so deserving of this award. An extraordinary nurse ... extraordinary friend ... and I'm happy and proud to have you as my friend too.
I'm sure you will carry this memory with you for a long time ... so happy that DS was a part of your special night.
A little something for you ....

I am still torn about the split stay. I like to unpack and live out of my room while I am there. I don't think I really want to repack, move and unpack again. I saw someone else on the RC board here talking about how this was a pain for them and I'm kinda thinking it might be for us as well. And actually thinking about it now- its not going to work. The two packages I am looking at both include park tickets. We are going to take that amount and upgrade to Fla Res season passes. So if I book a split stay I will be losing that money torwards passes and I will have a pass left over. I guess I could hold on to it and let me mom use it later if she wanted to come with us... WIth that being said if I stay at WL- I have more money towards the passes than if I choose YC/BC. Decisions Decisions! At least I have the WL package booked now bc this deal ends may 18th! I have time to decide if we want to change bc the YC/BC deal ends in June. IM SO TORN!!!!!I know ultimately it doesn't matter where we end up because we will have a ball no matter which we chose. Today Im leaning towards YC for SAB and WL for the extra $ towards the passes. So does that mean is the pool worth the extra $?? I think my 4 year old and my 36 year old would say yes! Also I have never been to Beaches and Cream and Hannas are those great???

69 DAYS UNTIL POLY PARADISE!!!!
I can't wait!!!![]()
So sorry about your EXTRA crummy Friday. So people started celebrating Cinco de Mayo Friday after midnight? What's wrong with people? Your vacation can't come soon enough. My glory of my award was short lived. Friday night was the worst night I've ever had!!!! EVER!!!!! The Cinco Del Mayo & Silver Moon combo made the ER completely insane....what a weekend...thank goodness vacation is coming
I think the BLT 1Br WILL open up....I don't know that 13 nights at your home resort is so bad my dear
![]()
Have you seen the photos of the newly rehabbed WL rooms? Maybe that and the savings would sway you? What is the family leaning toward? It does tend to get very crowded at B&C and HH since they share guests from two resorts and you can't make an ADR there. B&C has a very small dining area.I am still torn about the split stay. I'm taking a vote - should I...
1. Change back to all 13 nights WL/CL
2. Change back to the one bedroom at VWL for 5 nights prior to WL/CL
3. Keep it as is with CR/BLV for 5 nights and WL/CL for 8
4. Change back to all WL or split with VWL and keep checking for BLT one bedroom availability
5. None of the above?!
I'm leaning toward #4, which DH and I would be very happy with, but DD would think is too long to spend at one resort (she's antsy).
But, I thought you were the one that said you would have kept the 13 nights WL/CL. I think you used the word "Dreamy..."

I don't recommend a split for you. Of course, my vote is for WL!
~It's less expensive.
~The rooms are being rehabbed right now so you'd have the possibility of a new room.
~The QS/TSs are generally less crowded than YC/BC
~You can take a boat or a bus directly to the MK. Getting to the MK from the Epcot resorts is rather time consuming.
~You can take the boat to the CR and then monorail to the other MK resorts.
~FW is right next door which is like a whole other vacation.
~I prefer even the least expensive WL room view over the least expensive YC view. You can even see Wishes from some upper Standard View WL rooms.
