I am generally skeptical about As Seen On TV items, but decided to try one anyway, the Vidalia Chop Wizard.

Lisa loves potato soup, but making it generally took hours as we had to peel and chop 5 lbs of potatos before we could even think about soup. So, I got her a Chop Wizard for Christmas and the gadget works like a charm!

We made potato soup tonite and what typically took us approximately 1.5 hours took all of 25 minutes. We then chopped up a bunch of celery, carrots and onions for another soup and it worked just as well.

So, anyone else try any As Seen on TV items, and how well do they work for you.

I'm glad to hear it really works. I was thinking about getting one, but not so sure it will actually work. Thanks for confirming that it does.

DH's aunt has that onion chopper and yes it is amazing. I did not think it was going to work well. I was ready to chop up an onion and she told me to wait and brought it out. I am planning to buy one.

I saw these mops last night on TV....I think they were called sweep and mop...I wonder if those work well.

I never heard of them but now I want one.

Thanks for the review...I've been looking at that. What's your soup recipe?

I got the Magic Bullet...so far so good. My dd has made salsa, smoothies, deviled eggs and a milk shake so far. It is very easy to clean.

Yes, thanks. I love making potato soup and have even learned to like the process of peeling and dicing all those potatoes! However, I am for anything making life easier and giving me more time for other things.

I have "Ove Gloves." They were a gift but I think they had the as seen on TV label on them. I really like them--much more flexibility than a traditional oven mitt.

I bought the Chop Wizard at Macy's. I love it, but I have to press down with more force than the woman on tv does. It sure does cut down prep time.

Sandy,

We experienced the same thing with the force. It wasn't as easy as it is on TV. With potatoes we cut them into slices and put one slice at a time through the chopper. With carrots and celery it helped not to do too much at one time. I have another chopper that does onions even finer than the chop wizard does so I used it.

Pretty soon I'll have a chopper for each kind of veggie. LOL

Hi Linda!

I got the egg-stractor a few years ago (someone ordered one and if you called within the next 10 minutes, you got two - I was the lucky recipient of the second one) and it was horrible!

It was supposed to easily shell hardboiled eggs. Not! It pushed the yolk out of the egg, while the egg remained almost completely encased in the shell. Sheesh!

What about the new fold-up colander I saw on tv last night. It looks pretty cool.
