Flight day -1 commenced with a speedy drive down the M6 to Coventry from Chorley. This took an impressive 2h 15m. We checked into the Travelodge Rugby and they attempted to sell us a £16 breakfast consisting of Two Cereal Bars, 4 Croissants 2 cups of Tea and two fresh juices ---Yeah right !

Day 1--Travel Day.

Left the hotel room at 9am and found a local bakery for sausage butties mmmm and i didnt even spill any brown sauce- this was going to be a good day. We arrived at Coventry airport at 10.45 ready for out 13:05 flight, now if you have flown from Coventry you can understand the fact this Airport is a total experience compared to Manchester and the like. There are four check in desks and the bags a picked up by hand behind the desks. The security is tight but they are nice- we will find out later just how nice. We spent a couple of hours in the one room with the smallest toilets in the world! We got the call to board at 12:50 - a little late but we are first to the plane and took or seats. I had requested we sit two and two so we keep each of the kids happy for the journey. The flight was the smoothest i have been on yet, even though the plane is THO-F

an ex-Ryan Air that has probably seen some action. There are no Tv screens and no music plug in, the most basic plane I have flown in. The route took us down over Bournemouth, past the west of Paris, over the Pyrenees and down over Barcelona to Alicante. The clouds ruined the view until the Pyrenees then we were treated to a magical sight of the snow capped mountains, everyone on the plane were transfixed by this sight. We landed in Alicante just nudging 2h 30m for the flight time. Temperature on arrival is 16 deg, a little warmer than the 4 deg it was when we left.

That night we were due at the local restaurant Avenida in Rojales, approx 20 mins drive from Torrevieja. We had no time to drive to Torrevieja and then to Rojales so we had a couple of beers at the hotel with my mother in law Susan. The Avenida have a menu for 12 Euros of Salad, bolied potatoes for starters, then a range of Lasagne, chicken brest etc then a sweet, drink is in the price. You can always see the managers head drop when he sees me coming, i drink the 12 euros in beer alone :)
We had a lovely meal. Following the Avenida Liverpool were playing Bayer Levurkusen in the Champions League so we rushed back to this watching a great match in a lovely friendly bar Molly Molones bar on Toretta Dos Torrevieja. More drink was to be had, something that i was getting good practise at. Sarah said on the way home I was that drunk i tripped over a clump of grass and went mad and basically had a fight with the grass. I think i won!

I dont remember the walk home at all, the next thing i do remember was 10am the next morning. Phew

Next Day 2--- Who stole the DvD drive from the baggage ?
