AS Movies

Hard to believe it has been 2 years since my last Disney trip. We have reservations for Jan, 2003 to celebrate my g/f's 30th birthday.

We were at AS Movies in 99 shortly after it opened. My question is this. How are the resorts 3 years later? Are they still in good shape? Which buildings are smoking (if there are any certain buildings). We were in Dalmations 1 last time, I'm thinking of Toy Story this time, just to try something new. Any other comments, criticisms, helpful tips?

I know there is a search function, but it is hating me this morning.

Sorry I can't answer your question,our last trip was in '00 and it was great then but almost the same time frame as your trip.I do have a question though,how did you like Dalmations?We were in Fantasia but I don't know if I can justify the extra $10.Did you feel like it was a long walk to everything?

Which buildings are smoking

If you didn't smoke on your last trip,shame on you for starting now but seriously,I believe one of each set of buildings is smoking.

I returned from a two week stay at ASMovies almost two weeks ago. We styed in Dalmations room 1908 and it was a great location. We had a view of the Fantasia pool and the mighty ducks pool was a very short walk away. I did not find the Dalmations was a long walk to anywhere except maybe the All Star Sports.

We stayed in AS Sports in April - it was immaculate. We walked through Musi & Movies, and they looked just fine. I don't think you have to worry.

The Movies is great!!! Very clean and well kept up. We stayed in the Buzz building last September. Found the service very good. Housekeeping had our room cleaned before noon each day, it's a quick walk to the main building and foodcourt, as well as the main pool & laundry rea. The food in the foodcourt was very good. Service was a tad slow at check-in (did express check-out, so as to not have to stand in line). Remember, it is better to take your own bags to your room, rather than waiting for baggage CM's to bring it. Also, it's a very quick walk over to the Music from the Movies.

Our ASMo room in January was MUCH, MUCH cleaner than the POR room we had in May.
The bedspread (Woody building, #9) was showing it's age (just faded looking). The shower curtain had a MINOR (small) cut. Other than that, it was in very good shape. Better than I expected.
Those are the only things I can even think of, and there wasn't anything bad to speak of at all.
The grounds and the resort we did see was kept up very nice.
The CM's at ASMo were better than we experienced at CSR and POR.
I am really looking forward to our upcoming AS trips!

We stayed at Dalmatians in March of this year. It was great. The room was ver clean and a short walk to both the mighty ducks pool and the fantasia pool.

We just booked our trip for this year. We are staying at the toy story building. They did ask us if we wanted smoking or non, so it must go by floors.

Both Toy Story buildings are non-smoking. Remember, when you request a building, it is only a request, you don't always get it. They really do try very hard to accomodate you, though!

Since I'm not the smoker (Birthday Girl is), I think I'll request Pongo (Dalmations 1) again. I know nothing is carved in stone with Disney, a request is just that.

Its been a year since I've posted on this board and I must say, the people are as helpful now as they were then.
