Going up 12/17 to 12/20 with my 2 y.o. while my 5 y.o. visits my DH's family in NJ. Was going to book CBR, but AS Movies is coming up $70.00 cheaper. Now, normally I would jump on the CBR but its just me and my 2 y.o. and we don't need alot of room and I think he will prefer the theming at AS Movies by far, but I am just wondering if its a good idea. We have stayed at POP before and I like it well enough, although I would never do solo with the kids there, it gets too crazy in the food court. But I am thinking AS Movies should be ok for just the two of us, crazy food court or not.

With just a 2 y.o. would you spend the extra $70.00 for CBR or just put it toward a couple character meals with your child instead?

One of my favorite Disney memories is when we surprised our dds with a stay at ASMo. The look on thier face when they saw the pool was priceless. At the time my dw was checking in, (we told them we were seeing how much it would cost.) I heard my oldest tell her sister don't ask them to stay here, it
will cost too much money. Now they are older and preffer AKL, but at that age ASMo was better than any deluxe.

You know it just ain't right going to disney while the 5yo is away. How could you do such a thing. lol.

Perhaps not, but the 5 y.o. has had several "Mommy and me" trips in his five year, almost six, years and the 2 y.o. has had none. This was the only time I have to sneak away to Disney with the 2 y.o. without the 5 y.o. knowing the difference. :) Gotta take advantage of that. And don't cry for the 5 y.o.... he's going in January.

Oh that sounds nice, I was only kidding.
You guys have a great time!

I think your plan sounds perfect!!! I would definitey go with ASMovies!
After staying at almost every hotel at WDW my kids still pick ASMovies as their favorite!!!

I know you were. And what the five year old doesn't know, won't hurt him. :) Until the 2 y.o. comes home with a new pirate's sword and I have to explain where he got it!

I have been going to WDW with DD since she was 3. The value resorts are perfect for us. With just the 2 of us there is plenty of room. We love the theme at ASMo. My DD's favorite now is Pop. The food courts can get a little crazy no matter where you are. We stayed at AKL and Mara always had a line and was busy. Go and have fun. I would use the extra for character meals. At 2 that is a magical time! :wave2:

One child and one parent is perfect for any of the value resorts! They'll love the theming, you'll love the pricing, everyone is happy!

Our kids love the theming at the value resorts. They especially love the larger than life characters. We have to walk around each resort so they can see them all. I would think your kid would love it. It is always possible to go to other resorts to eat so I would tend to save the money for something else.
