As BLT sells, does that put more villas in inventory?

What I mean is....if you were waitlisted for BLT, could your request be filled because of new owners coming into the system (and their purchase adds more villas being available on points?) or is BLT filled to max DVC points capacity if you are on the waitlist and someone needs to cancel before you can get anything? I hope I have made sense.
Thanks!

Yes.

Before DVC can close on contracts, they need to have villas in the system for the points that they sell. This means that they must declare in to inventory a villa, or group of them, before they can sell the points that represent that villa.

Once they've closed on all the points for a particular villa, then they must declare more before they can sell any more.

They seem to declare a few villas once a month, or so. Keep watching your wait lists. As BLT sells, they will be filled.

There is another thread (see http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2212548) that is tracking the DVD BLT declarations to DVC. On July 15, 2009, DVD declared 8 more two bedroom villas and 2 more grand villas to the DVC inventory, bringing the total declaration to 54 dedicated 2BR, 70 lockoff 2BR, and 9 grand villas (thanks to TSMIII for tracking this data). This represents the ninth declaration by DVD to BLT.

I don't know when newly declared villas actually become available for DVC members. Those 8 villas and 2 grand villas that are part of the latest declaration have probably already been booked by cash reservations through August and September, if not beyond. So the latest declaration probably won't translate into some DVCer's waitlist for the next few weeks being fulfilled. However, it definitely increases your chances of getting a BLT reservation for 8 to 11 months from now.

This statement is not completely true. We have been tracking declarations and deed recorded at the Orange County Comptroller's (OCC) website. In the latest declaration by DVD dated 7/15/2009, and recorded by OCC on 7/20/2009, DVD released Unit 89a to the DVC. However, a review of deeds recorded by OCC on 7/27/2009 shows that buyers were signing contracts for Unit 89a as early as 6/30/09, and that DVD was signing off on the deeds as early as 7/13/09, two days before they declared the Unit to the DVC.

I guess what this means is that DVD cannot have a deed recorded for a Unit until they have declared that Unit.
