I haven't been here in years. Is this restaurant still good. What are the best dishes on the menu? Will be going there for an adult dinner on our trip next month.

We ate at Artist Point last fall and it was fantastic. Portobello mushroom soup and the buffalo sirloin - delish! Dh had the wild boar and said it was great, and both of the kids had the salmon and loved it. DH wants to go back on our next trip.

does the buffalo taste like regular beef or is it a strange consistancy? I know weird question, but I think my brain would be telling me this isn't cow.

It is most definitely in the cow category. It's a leaner meat, so medium rare is really the best (IMHO) way to ask for it cooked. Medium at the most. Anything else will make it tough.

If you are concerned you can always buy buffalo burgers at the food store and try them out. It's not going to be exactly the same b/c you're talking burger to steak, but it would give you something to go off of. I know Trader Joes sells them, and they're suuuuuper yummy!

Buffalo is SO much better than beef! DD21 and I hardly ever buy beef anymore! We prefer a super-lean steak and this fits the bill perfectly. As stated, because there is so little fat, you do not cook this past medium as it WILL turn jerky-like. :cloud9: YUM!!!!!

The wild boar was amazing so was the salmon- in fact we loved everything we ate but the boar was the top item for everyone at the table (at the time it was an appetizer and we all shared it- 4 of us).

We ate there last spring and it was OK but I can't say it inspired me to go back. Maybe we just made a wrong menu choice.

Dh had the mushroom soup and he loved it. I had a cheese plate that was delish. I had the scallops over risotto and he had the same. We both felt it was way too salty and subpar for depth of flavor and preparation. Narcooses similar dish is WAY better--hands down. I had a chocolate dessert--can't remember the name exactly--but it was--eh. I am a choc-o-holic so for me not to like it says a lot.

Service was good. Atmosphere was OK. The meal as a whole just didn't sing for us. Started great but then went downhill. We are trying Bluezoo this coming trip.
