Artist's Point and kids

Made Ps for 7/2 at Coral Reef for DH BDay. DH REALLY loves Salmon. Reef gets just so-so ratings.
Though looking at Artist Point's menu , looks like great salmon dish there.
BUT DH will not consider going out for BD dinner w/out DS(just 10) and DD( 6.5yr).
I notice they have a childrens menu, but how appropriate would it be to take them? They are pretty well behaved,but if it's a LONG meal ,I know they will be bored.
Any help appreciated...also how "nice" do people dress there? My DH pretty much will only "dress up" to a polo shirt and dress shorts level when at WDW.

We had a great meal there, I'd highly recommend it!! We went with an 18-month old who grabbed the meatball, discovered it was too hot and winged it across the room. Fortunately, there was no one at the next table! It's not as kid-friendly as the other restaurant there (Roaring Forks is it? Can't remember the name) but the cuisine is top notched. Don't do appetizers and dessert and the dinner will be fine.

we dined there recently and there were children dining there also. your children will fit right in. as far as your husband's attire--sounds like my husband. he will over dressed than others and under dressed by other standards. polo and nice shorts are great.

AP is one of our favorite restaurants!! The salmon is to die for, I just love their "cedar plank salmon"!! A MUST DO!!

And as far as the kids go, very kid friendly. Our dd was there when she was 3, 4 and 5! They have crayons & pictures for them to color. They even have a display wall to hang them on! (they did in Feb. anyway). DD colored about 4 different ones!-wanted to make some to bring home and then oneto hang up (wonder if it's still there LOL!). Our server gave her a little "Disney Magic" certificate which was cute.

And their menu for the kids is very extensive, anything you see on WCC's menu you can also get as well, in addition to what they have.

Yes, it is a little more laid back and low key but it's very family friendly. I recall on one visit there were 2 parties of 2 (fathers with their young daughters). It just sits in my mind because BOTH dd's were SLEEPING in 2 chairs that were pushed together at the table while they're fathers dined quietly. It was just a funny, yet cute sight!!!(only in Disney)!!

Dress is very mixed. I've seen many people dressed up in dresses and suits and then many in polos and shorts. My dh wore jeans our last visit because it was cold otherwise he wears shorts and a polo shirt there (he feels the same way your dh does about dressing up in Disney)!

We love AP. We first took our boys at 9, and 10. They were able to enjoy it also. They got a White chocolate puzzle with edible paint. After that, a must do for us. I just hope its still on the menu!

DH & I ate here for the first time this past Oct, and it is now on our "Must Do" list!!! We'll definitely be back in July!

Most people (including us) had on nice shorts/shirts. There were a few people who were dressed a little nicer - khaki pants for the men, casual dresses for the ladies. Again, most of the people there had on shorts - so you'll be fine!

My DD chose to go to the Clubhouse while we had dinner. I wasn't sure if she would like what was on the menu, but I did look at the kids menu and she would be fine with it. (There were lots of kids there) DD is asking to go back to the Clubhouse, but we'll see when it gets closer.
