My husband and I tried AP during Sept vacation and were very dissapointed. We brought along his sister for her birthday and they were very attentive to her, but the food was horrible to say the least. I had the beef filet, SIL had chicken and do not remember what DH had. We went late at night so I don't know if we just caught them on a bad night. We had heard so many wonderful things about AP and thought it would up to par with California Grill. The host and chef were very nice but our waitor left more than a little to be desired!

Anyone had an experience like this????

Sorry you had a disappointing meal. :( Maybe you were there on an off night.

We had dinner at Artist Point last October. The food was spectacular! I think the menu has changed slightly since we were there. I had a pan seared scallops appetizer and the cedar plank salmon. DH had a tomato salad and a shrimp dish for his entree. Everything tasted wonderful - well prepared and excellent quality.

Our server was a little aloof, but in no way was the service poor, or rude.

ooohhh, i am sorry you had such a bad experince! we ate there in july w/a large party(8), and everything was fabulous! please consider dining there on another trip.:p

I have to agree with you. Though the service was good, probably because no one was in the restaurant. The food was so so. We used to love this restaurant, especially the smoked fish that came with the bread and the amazing berry cobbler. The dip is gone and they have changed the cobbler. We also felt the menu was not as good as it used to be either. I know that the head chef has changed frequently at AP and that could be the reason behind the inconsistance. Needless to say we were very disappointed and will not be returning anytime soon.

AP was one of our best meals in June, but they did overcook my filet. It was still flavorful and moist and I didn't have them replace it, although they offered (almost insisted.) I was OK with it and I would have sent it back if it had been dry or bad, but at that price, if you order medium rare, you should get it - not medium well. They gave us a berry cobbler for dessert, complimentary, and it was wonderful. The mussels appetizer was HUGE and delicious. Sorry your meal was such a disappointment.

We had a disappointing experience also in August. The service was impecable and the appetizers were great, but the main entree was terrible. I am one of those people who eat almost anything but my buffalo steak was under-cooked and soooo fatty. My husbands was the same. Other adults in our party had shrimp that was undercooked. I usually stay at the WL and have had beakfast at AP without a problem, but I will never eat dinner there again!

I guess we were fortunate. It was all around excellent when we went in June. Excellent server (I think his name was Steve-the best server!) DH had mushroom soup that he still raves over. Berry cobbler was excellent. Great experience-a must for us.

Good gracious - I'm really worried about them if they are undercooking shrimp! I've NEVER seen an undercooked shrimp anywhere. They only take a couple of minutes to cook and most places cook them to rubber. Yikes!

Our experience this past February was nothing but wonderful, even with three young kids along. Food was great, service was great, atmosphere was great- can't wait to go back.

I've only been to AP once (going again in Dec.), but our meal, and our service .. all the way around .. was very good. I'm sorry you had a bad experience - perhaps they were just having an 'off night'.
