Is Artist Point worth the trip over to WL? Is it mostly adults, or do many kids dine there? What is the ambiance? How's the food?

We love Artists' Point, and we *try* to fit it in on every trip.

My son, who is now 11, has been going there since he was 6. Like every WDW restaurant except V&A, there are always children of a variety of ages.

The ambiance -- it's not super fancy. It is much prettier when the sun is still out -- the views out the windows to the little creek/waterfall (that runs from the lobby to the pool) are pretty, but once it gets dark that feature is totally lost.

We love the food. We really love the cedar plank salmon, and we've enjoyed the other dishes we've tried.

The Wilderness Lodge itself is lovely, and very fun to walk around if you haven't been before. You can take a boat from MK or from the Contemporary, which adds a nice element to the adventure.

Artist Point gas great food and service, with a super wine list as well. Since it is at a resort at Disney World, there will be plenty of children there. It is well owrth the trip.

About normal for a resort restaurant.Kids are there but not running around crazy, ambience is Northwestern Lodge, service is very good, food is eclectic but familiar and tasty.
We asked the server what was in the soup and the chef personally delivered a recipe,a very nice surprize.

AP. Some people claim that it's not as romantic or comfortable setting as some of the other signature restaurants. The decor is consistent with the Wilderness Lodage theme. The restaurant has design elements that reflect the elegant/rustic dining rooms of the American Northwest national park resorts.

It seems less rushed to me than the other signature (I don't group V&A under signature) restaurants. Kids are welcome and are often there but not nearly as much as, say, California Grill.

One of my favorites! :thumbsup2

We really enjoy Artist Point. When we have been there there has been a mix of families and couples.

My kids really like the food there as it is different from all of the typical generic menus you see at most of the other restaurants.

WL is a really beautiful resort.

For us it is definitely worth the trip!

Absolutely worth the trip! Of all the restaurants we've tried in WDW, it's our favorite. It has the most "grown-up" feel of all the places we've tried, too, but not so much that you couldn't comfortably bring kids. My kids LOVED it!

The buffalo is out of this world!

Buffalo meat, and double chocolate cheese cake with grand marnier whipped cream, need I say more?

Their mushroom soup is a must have for me.

TopDog, the mushroom soup is the best thing there. I love that soup.

OP, you'll like AP. It's really relaxing and I think the atmosphere is nice too.

Artist Point is a favorite of my family's. I usually get the filet; DH gets the salmon or the buffalo. We all (me, DH, DD14 and DD10) LOVE the mushroom soup and the berry cobbler (though I still miss their coffee three ways dessert). The service has been absolutely fabulous every time we've been there--very welcoming and accommodating for the girls (who were 8 and 4 when we first visited). When they were younger, they loved the white chocolate puzzle dessert. We love the atmosphere--very beautiful, airy and calm, but not stuffy or too "fancy." It's a must-do for us...
