Just had a delightful dinner tonight with DH at Artist Point. We had eaten there 7 or 8 years ago and were underwhelmed but after seeing recent reviews we decided to try again....VERY glad we did.
We were seated quickly after arrival. Most tables were occupied by still did not seem loud or crowded. I started with the Portobello soup, DH had the salad. Soup was excellent....the kind that is so good you really wish you could lick the bowl but....DH loved the salad. I had the salmon he had the halibut. Every bite on my plate was perfect. Fish was perfectly cooked, accompaniments were lovely and tasty. All I know about the halibut is DH said it was excellent....disappeared before I got my fork over there to try it
We eat a lot of fish and we both agreed this was fresh and some of the best we have eaten. We shared a cobbler for dessert...and again it was a hit. Perfect ending. The berries were fresh, ripe, tart and tasty, crust light and sweet and buttery.
Service was exactly what we love....knowledgeable and attentive without being over friendly and super chatty. My only negative was the coffee. We both ordered coffee with dessert and he brought 2 press pots of coffee (at $6.79 each !) and the water was not very hot so the coffee was not very good. Guess we could have sent it back but by then it didn't seem worth the trouble
Total for the evening including expensive coffee, tax and tip (with the TIW discount) was just under $125.
I would give the food an A+, the service an A+ and the atmosphere an A. All in all a lovely evening. We will go back and it won't be 7 or 8 years this time!!
