Hey everyone, I had a few questions about Artist Point for this Thanksgiving. Do they usually serve their normal menu, as well as a few festive dishes ? Wanted to have their famous Salmon dish. Also, for Thanksgiving restaurants such as Artist Point, do they accept the dining plan ?

Yes, they serve their regular menu & yes it's on the dining plan. Enjoy!

. . . Wanted to have their famous Salmon dish . . .

1) You can get the Wild King Salmon.
2) You cannot get the far superior Copper River Salmon. *
3) It is out of season by then.

* We had this three weeks ago at AP. GORGEOUS.

I've had the Copper River salmon at AP, and I've had the non-Copper River wild king salmon there several times. I've always loved my salmon there.

1) Agreed.
2) When the Copper River Salmon is in season, it is GREAT.
3) Too bad AP can't have it year-round.

I see what you mean. It's too bad it's only available for a few weeks. But I'm still always very pleased with the seasonal salmon preparation that the AP chefs come up with. :)

When is the season?
It varies each year, but it's typically from late May to early July.

Like I said, I've had wonderful salmon at AP during non-Copper River season. Here's a picture from March:

The most recent info on the Dis and other sites and my experience a few years ago is that Artist Point (like several of the restaurants on property) serves a more limited, prix fixe menu on Thanksgiving; NOT their full a la carte menu. IIRC, it was a three-course meal with appetizer, a choice of 3-4 entrees and dessert. Below is what Allears has as the 2011 menu and the Salmon was not available.

Artist Point Thanksgiving Dinner (Wilderness Lodge) Regular a la carte menu not available. Holiday Prix-Fixe Menu includes Choice of one Appetizer, one Entree, and one Dessert. Appetizers --Roasted Baby Beets with Fine Herb Goat Cheese, Blood Orange Vinaigrette, and Petit Herbs Fresh Field Greens with Heirloom Apple, Oregon Blue Cheese, Spicy Pecans, and Champagne Vinaigrette, Smokey Portobello Soup with Roasted Shiitakes and Chive Oil, Roasted Kumanmoto Oysters with Autumn Corn and Venison Sausage; Entrees -- Truffled Black Diamond Macaroni and Cheese Grilled Filet of Buffalo with Autumn Vegetable, House-made Truffle Tater Tots, and Pomegranante Syrah; Gastrique Smoked Turkey Breast basted with Sage Butter, Dried Cherry and Fig Dressing, Acorn Squash, Chive Yukon Mashed Potatoes, and Natural Jus; House-made Yukon Potato Gnocchi with Heirloom Carrots, Chanterelle Mushrooms, fresh Ricotta, English Peas, and Sweet Corn Nage. Desserts -- Heirloom Apple Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream and Mulled Cider Caramel Sauce, Pumpkin White Chocolate Cheesecake with Cranberry Marmalade and Hzaelnut Brittle, Chocolate Indulgence Valhrona Chocolate Ganache with Salted Chocolate Ice Cream, Amarena Cherries, and Dark Chocolate Crumble, Artist Point Cobbler Seasonal Berries and House-made Black Raspberry Ice Cream.

Thanks for the replies everybody !

Does anyone have any pictures of some of the Thanksgiving dishes ?

I can't seem to find a single one.
