Artist Choice Ornament Collection 2001?

Hi There,

I was wandering if anyone knew where I could find pictures of the Artist Collection Ornaments from this year, if they even made them this year. I dont know. Last year around Thanksgiving, they released them down in WDW and they were of characters like figment and others. I know they have made them in years past, but did they make a set for this year, and if so how much are they selling for and does anyone have any pics? If anyone has the Figment ornament from last year, I am in dire need of it.

Matt, now that you mention these ornaments, I do not recall seeing them at WDW last week. We visited the Christmas shop at DTD & at the Studios. I'll be curious to know if anyone knows anything about them.

Last year was the first year they made the Artist Collection ornaments without boxes. The only way that we knew that they were there was because at Disneyana in September, at the Artists Showcase, the artists had them displayed at their tables.

I never gave it a thought but at this year's Disneyana Artist Showcase, they didn't have any ornaments displayed. Nor did I see any special characters at the Christmas Shoppe at DTD last week. They did have some old fashion ornaments of Pie-eyed Mickey that were resin but looked and felt like wood. Other than that I really didn't see anything new. For the first time since I've been going to WDW (1976), I walked out of the Christmas shop without buying anything.

Thats interesting to hear. I hope they are still going to make this ornaments, but those fake wood ornaments you are talking about sound really neat, I may have to pick myself up some when we go.

Anyone else have any info on the ornament collection?

I had heard a rumor a while back that they would not be making the artists choice ornaments this year. We were there last week and didn't see any, so I guess it was true. Also, we didn't see the EPCOT Holiday gift catalog, that usually features the ornaments.

On the other hand, we saved a lot of money this trip, and bought NO Christmas ornaments.

Last year, the Figment was the first one to sell out, and was totally gone by the first week in December.

I asked a CM manager typer aboutthe EPCOT ho;iday catalog. They did not have one this year. I missed it & the artist choice ornaments! Flyinglizard, did you see the 2002 Mickey series ornament?

There were no Artists Choice ornaments this year. They are working on a set for next year, but they will be "upscale" (their words, not mine) and unlike the resin ones. I guess it's just wait and see.

I was looking forward to getting those this year too. I did get Figment last year, but I was there in October when he first came out.

They didn't have individual ball ornaments for each park this year. I was pretty bummed about that one. Oh well, saved me a little money. I didn't get nearly as much in the Christmas shop this year as in previous years. I did get a storybook set though.
