I didn't realize until after I typed the article that Disney World is never mentioned but I recognize Jessika from Epcot.

She Earns a Living Just Standing Around!

A little boy walking through a park in Orlando sees a Greek statue and stops in his tracks. “Mom, that statue just moved,” he says.

“Honey, statues don’t move,” his mom says. But when she turns her back…”Mom! She moved!” he shrieks.

In fact, the ‘statue’-aka Jessika Dudek- did move. The 21-year old is a “living statue,” hired by parks and festivals to stand like a stone-then surprise the crowds when she turns out to be a living, breathing person.

Even to someone looking closely, Jessika, covered in stark white paint sealed with powder, could easily be mistaken for a carving. “One girl actually touched my hand and said she couldn’t believe ‘they made the statue warm.’” Jessika smiles. “So I reached out and grabbed her arm. She screamed at first-but then couldn’t stop laughing.”

Originally, the Orlando woman aimed to become an accountant. But while working at a summer festival, she was “discovered” by Serg Dulac, creator of a company called Original Living Statues.

Jessika has a knack for standing still. Her secret: she relaxes her mind into a meditative state and no one can disturb her-for up to two hours and 10 minutes.

“I get a kick out of people who try to distract me,” she says. Some folks have even poked her. But so far, no one has broken her concentration. “I practice at the museum impersonating statues.”

And she does it so well, people think she’s an exhibit!

“It’s a great job,” Jessika says. “And I can tell people I earn a living just standing around!”

I don't remember noticing her... I'll have to keep my eye out next time.

They are all over hte place in Manhattan, some are so incredible!!

I read that article last week and never made the connection! How cool ~ I wonder why they can't say where she works? Why would that matter?

I guess she doesn't only work at WDW but I do remember what she looked like and that is her!
