There's an excellent article at Hypable with tips on visiting the WWoHP this summer, including this DO:

Be cognizant of when you buy your Honeydukes candy
If you buy chocolate at 10AM and lug it around till 4PM in the blazing Florida heat, we don’t think your Chocolate Frog will resemble anything more than a melted mess when you try to open it. Buy the sweets later in the day to ensure they keep their form.

There's a bunch of reader-submitted tips as well. (My project-promoting tip is to come to Ascendio's private Park event on July 12 where you'll get to enjoy dinner and dessert and Butterbeer and celebrate Harry Potter with Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) and Afshan Azad (Padma Patil) in the WWoHP once all the Muggles have gone home. But if you can't get to Orlando July 12 - 15, the other tips in the article and comments are terrific!)

Just FYI I am pretty sure that they sell those frogs in the store just before you leave the park. Last year we bought them in WWoHP and of course had to eat them then and there so they wouldn't become that melted mess and later we noticed them at that store on the way out. Wish we'd known that earlier!

BTW we'll be there in August also!

read the article.
it's pretty much basic info that many figure out or already know.

i'm suprised that the article didn't state that park goers can use the will call (pick up service) when they buy merch/potter candy, etc.

you shop and buy while you are in the park.
the TM can have your purchase sent to the front of the park for you to pick up before you leave for the day.

if you stay onsite, it can be set up to be delivered to your room.

Can I ask if you ask for item to be sent to front of park - what prevents it from melting still? I presume this is done by some kind of manual collection from all the stores. So the goods are till being lugged around the park in the heat - just by Universal Staff instead of yourself.

Also - can good be sent to the Universal hotels. I knew Disney did this, but didn't know Uni offered same service

They aren't out in the heat for hours and hours.

Yes, your items can be sent to the room. They go directly TO your room, the following day. You don't pick them up somewhere else in the hotel. (they'll even put it inside the room if you aren't there, but be sure you do NOT put the "do not disturb" sign up!)

Honeydukes even has a separate format for sending things to the front of the park for that matter... So that they do not get spoiled on the way there. You can also buy the chocolate frogs at the front of the park on your way out.
