ABC marketing chief resigns after seven months

LOS ANGELES, March 10 (Reuters) - ABC Televisions' marketing chief, Steve Sohmers, has resigned about seven months after taking his job at the Walt Disney Co. (nyse: DIS - news - people) unit, a spokesman for the network said on Monday.

Sohmers had joined ABC to establish a plan to promote the prime time schedule of the recovering network.

ABC finished in fourth place in the February sweeps viewer ratings battle between networks, although executives say they have stabilized after a sharp decline in previous years.

Marketing executives who worked for Sohmers will report to ABC Entertainment Chairman Lloyd Braun until a sucessor is named, the company said.

Does this mean the mindless reality genre menu will stop or just that someone else's "new" ideas will earn them millions and ABC low ratings??
I would like to believe change is in the wind.......
