I sw by doctor today about my MS. the good news is there was no changes in the 2 MRIs I had, yeah, so in a year nothing has changed. Nw the kicker is he told me I have arthritis in the neck. I guess that just confirm that going on 46 in July this little ***** is getting older. My father that is 85 said I can't handle getting older, that isn't true. if it was I would die my hair and dress like a young chicken but I don't, he got me so mad just cause I said Arthritis makes me think I am getting old.:D

Gail, believe me, I know just how you're feeling when the doctor told me I had spinal stenosis in my neck. It's not arthritis like what you have but it's probably just as uncomfortable.

{{{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you and nah we're not getting older!!!:p

Well, I'm 57 and have arthritis in my neck, my wrists, my fingers, my knees and one ankle. Have no idea why the other ankle is not joining the club. LOL But I take Vioxx every day and feel fine.

Jason, I think a young chicken is like a cornish hen. You must still be a youngin, I remember that expression, am I that old? :D :teeth:

Arthritis isn't only for the old-----I was diagnosed with it at the age of 12----and the doctor said that I had had it for several years before that (judging by the damage to my joints). My mother argued with the doctor and said that I couldn't possibly have arthritis--that it was for old folks!

My son was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis at the age of 6. I knew what to look for with him!

I am 39 and have been diagnosed with arthritis for 8 years now. I have it in my shoulders, elbows, fingers and knees :( I have lost a ton of weight and it has helped immensley, but I also take a nice big dose of Vioxx :) I am so grateful for that stuff :) If you are old, then I need to join the club too....I do know what you mean though, when you get those mornings when you just can't get up...and you feels lousey, I might as well be 90 :(

My grandmother had arthritis in her hands so bad she couldn't sleep at night.
I have it in my hands too, but not as severe.
It is especially bothersome and painful whenever I have to raise my hands above my head. (no more curling my hair:))
I've been doing alot of painting/texturing around my house and have to take LOTS of breaks. My fingers go numb and I can't even grip the brush or roller.
It's also in my big toe that I broke years ago. It has really made me re-think some of my shoe choices.:)

I feel for all of you.

I'm getting arthritis in one of the arms that I broke a few years ago.

My mother keeps reminding me that it means I'm getting older. She says things like, "I'm so sorry that your arthritis is starting at such a young age." I haven't shared with her that I'm about 10 years older than she was when she started with arthritis.

Parents can be funny can't they?

I'm 39 and I have had osteo-arthritis for 14 years now and it's mainly on my neck and shoulders but started going to my arms now. I also take vioxx everyday and I'm very thankful for that stuff.

Gail, congrats on your good news that your MRI showed no changes. :D

I'm 48 and I have arthritis in my neck, too. So far, it hasn't caused me much of a problem--my neck is a bit stiff--but I have been ok just taking ibuprofen for it. I hear good stuff about vioxx & celebrex, though. I guess that's something to be thankful for for us old hens. :teeth:

My DD has had JRA since Birth I'am almost sure, we were told at two thats what she has left ankle , right knee , right pinky finger,, and her jaw joint one is growing one isnt,, not fair,, she is 13 ,, but it doesnt stop her she is a cheerleader, plays volleyball, softball, basketball,, she hurts but very seldom complains,,

at my age its understandable but so unfair to these kids,,

she has bloodwork every 4 months and has been a guiney pig for every new drug eye exams every year,,

I'am sur you know cmatt

To those taking vioxx and celebrex--I'm sure your doctor checks your blood pressure--but be aware that one of the side effects of both drugs is elevated blood pressure---yep, I know because it happened to me--they helped with pain, but it wasn't worth taking two other drugs to control elevated blood pressure caused by the vioxx!
