Which is more convienent IYO? The first tram leaves at 7:20am from our hotel, so we'd get to the park about 30 minutes before EE started- perfect timing. But is it easier leaving the park/closer to the main gate if you bring your car & park in the lot? We'll have two small kids (DS5 & DD3) so I dont want to be dragging them all over the place trying to leave.

How close does ART drop you off to the gate? How do you know which one to get back on? Does each hotel have its own one, or do they have a "bus route" & pickup/drop off at a bunch of different hotels? Are the waits long if we'd be leaving in the afternoon for lunch and coming back in the evening?

Thank YOu! :D :lovestruc

I'm not sure which I would choose.

To bring your car, it's 10 to park. Then you have to ride the tram or walk. The walk is pretty long though. So if you come or leave at a busy time you may have to wait for trams.

To use ART at busy times you may also have a wait. I think they allow standing on ART (I've never been on it, but I think I've seen people standing in it). I have seen people lined up waiting to get on at busy closing times, but it looked like they got a lot of people on at once, and it usually looked like if you didn't get on the first one, you would get on the next. The ART drops off and the Tram drop offs are about the same distance from the park entrances (though the Mickey and Friends tram drop off is on the opposite side of the entrance plaza).

I have had to wait as many as 4 or 5 trams after fireworks or closing. Also if I remember correction the ART is slightly cheaper. I would probably just do that, as bringing your car you either have to park, walk to tram stop get on tram get off tram and walk to entrance, or park and walk to the park.

Someone asked that on another board recently. The "experts" that are there often, felt that ART was probably easier. Then you are only getting in and out of one vehicle. If you park you are going to have to ride the tram from the parking garage- so you are looking at loading the kids in the car, getting them out at parking, going through the parking lot to the trams, tram ride, walk to gates, then reverse it all to go back home. With ART you get on, ride, get off, short walk to gates and you are there.

But, yes, sometimes the ART shuttles are full and you'll have to wait for the next one. AS for which one to get one, they are divided by letters. You'll catch an "A", "B", etc. As long as you know which one you rode to the park, it will be the same going back.

Hey!! I've never been to DL (will be remedying that next month), but we will be using ART. From what I can gather, each tram has a select number of hotels it visits and each one has a specific color.

I'll be staying at the HOJO next month and my tram appears to be lime green (the perfect DIS color!!).

I think my friend just stayed at HoJo - she said it was within walking distance of the park entrance. I remember at the time (about a month ago) I read the distance from various nearby hotels, and hers was actually closer to walk to the park entrance than the DLH will be for us!

Hojo's is about 10-15 minute walk. Its not bad at all.

I'll be traveling with my daughter who is 5 and although I could do the 10 minute walk with no difficulty, I know she'll be tired and sort of cranky by the end of a long day at DL. So, we'll probably do ART in the evenings after the parks close. Glad you found the link helpful!

Definitely Car. And Try To Park In The Lion King Parking Lot. You Catch The Tram Out In Front Of The Park; Don't Have To Go All The Way To The Parking Garage Which I Hate...reasons Later. We Always Try To Get In That Parking Lot Because It Takes About Five Minutes To Get Over The Lot And About 3 Minutes To Get To Your Car. And There Are Not Big Crowds Either. I Don't Like The Parking Garage Because You Walk Thru There And Cars Are Going Too Fast And Are Weaving In And Out Of People. I'm Always Afraid That One Of My Grandkids Is Going To Get Hit! The Big Structure Is A Big Hassle In My Opinion. Last Time We Went We Had To Park In The Parking Lot By Paradise Pier. That Was Nice....because It Is All At Street Level.

We tried the drive 1 time and settled for ART. Quicker, closer and not that much of a pain except at closing. They allow you to stand. The big hassle was people with stollers who expected the ART drivers to do all their work, that caused a few delays. We walked the 15 minutes in the AM, good for a wake up and took ART back at night. Trying to find a parking spot back at the hotel at night was not worth the pain.

We walk back and forth. I would rather walk and get there then have to wait for the ART to get there or wait for my hotel to get there. Yeah we are tired but we seem to get to the hotel faster.

thanks SJ, I would of never gotten that one. :thumbsup2
