Is anyone else underwhelmed by the main building? the lobby, the check in area, stores, restaurant...not doing it for me. the rest of the resort looks amazing. my boy will love the Cars area but I look at the main building pics and am underwhelmed.

My concern with AOA is the walking distance from Little Mermaid to the food court and buses. This resort is HUGE!..... When someone on the boards, mapped the distance as .25 miles, I was really happy that I booked POP for our next trip in December. I think the resort will be great to tour, but if you are not staying in a family suite, you will be stuck way up in the "boonies".

We will be sure to check it out and eat at the food court, but will stick to our fav POP this trip! This is an adults only trip, so the over-the-top theming really doesn't appeal to us! Having a free fridge and WiFi does though!

I'll let you know in august but from the pictures, I think I will like a bit of normality in the over the top decor of the reset tof the hotel..

Not sure what it is exactly but something about it looks bland. maybe because it looks like the other values in layout and what not. Not sure what i was expecting but it really seems bland and boring. the rooms and grounds are unbelievable though. i love the over the top theming of the values. Have stayed at POP the last tow trips and loved it. AS Music before that. Something about the main building of AoA just doesnt click with me.

if you are at POP and in anything other than the 60's 70's its gonna be a hike -- but we love POP and are staying at the AoA in August in the Nemo Suites ---

Make sure you are in a preferred room at POP!

Gotta be top floor lakeside view for us at POP! Preferred rooms, although closer to the food court and buses, can be near the pools and as they stay open late, are usually very noisy! I can't believe that they charge more for a preferred room and lakeside views, although you can only request them, remain the standard price!

We just booked Sat for AOA in the Mermaid Section. We usually stay at POP and usually in the 70/80's section. We like being further away as we drive down and have our own car. We like being close to our room to get our luggage in and after a long day at the parks. So staying at the AOA and being far away is fine with us. We live in the boonies now so are use to it.
