Why is it so hard to find dates that work for everybody??
First, we were going to go back to Disney in Sept. Then we decided that we'd rather not go during free dining because we were within the 180 day window when we started talking about this trip, the rumors about free dining were flying, and so we couldn't get many of the ADRs we wanted.
So then we were going to go for the first week of Oct. Made ADRs and was planning on booking the package this week. But MIL can't go for those dates, so DH had me rethinking our resort choice to suit just the 4 of us.
Then, since we're considering a return to public schooling for next year, DH pointed out that we should check our travel dates against the state testing schedule, and of course that testing begins on Columbus Day. Anyone else think that's just stupid, to start mandatory statewide testing on a day that so many parents have off?
And why oh why does it have to run the ENTIRE month?
So now we're looking at the week after Thanksgiving. Since we're back to having no idea whether or not MIL will be able to get the vacation time, I have no idea where we'll be staying. But at least for these dates, I've got some time to plan *before* I have to make ADRs. For Oct, I was planning our schedule around the ADRs I could get, because we were at 177 out when we started looking at those dates.
It is a very good thing that I enjoy the planning part of travel, or my family would make me crazy!!
