We will be travelling from Australia and arriving at 6:30am at LAX on Super Bowl Sunday. We will need to keep busy for the day otherwise we will fall asleep no doubt (14 hour flight and we probably won't have slept the night before the flight) We will have AP's so entering the parks won't be a waste of a day. Any suggestions on which park to visit or anything specifically to do (aside from saying hello to Mickey which is always an arrival day must do) We might do Goofys Kitchen for dinner. We won't be staying late and are staying on property so won't have far to go back to the resort. We know WDW very well but Disneyland is a new experience. I have only visited once ten years ago.

Super Bowl Sunday has been fairly busy the last few years. If you have AP's I'm not clear why you are asking which park to visit. Crowds will be equally busy at both usually. MM will usually be at DCA on Sundays if that helps.

I generally like to recommend Disneyland during the day and California Adventure at night.
Have the newer Cars Land and Star Wars attractions now. So those are definite must dos.

It might be warm enough still in January to do the pool! There are a ton of on-site things you can do including the Scavenger hunts everyday from 4-5pm and if you win you can be the "Grand Guest" for a day, there's also a Trivia Challenge for the parks you can get at the front desk if you're going to head into the parks and know it's going to be busy. In the evening guests of The Grand Californian Hotel have access to a special World of Color Viewing Area on the 6th floor of the hotel and is a Covered Patio with full sound then you won't have to wait to watch the show, the view of the actual water projections is to the side, but you can see all of the colors of water and hear the songs.

They also show Disney movies on the lawn when it gets dark.

Stay away from Downtown Disney because ESPN Zone shows the game on giant tv screens outside the restaurant and it will be extremely busy.

We arrived on Super Bowl Sunday this yr at the same time you are, we had booked our accommodation for the previous night, so we could check straight in, shower and freshen up.

We did a small grocery shop for some essentials and then hit the park. We had never been before, so we just wandered around in awe, taking it all in. We didn't have any meals booked for that day, as we didn't want to have to be somewhere at some time incase we were too tired. Turns out we didn't get jet lagged at all, which was good :)

We stayed at Best Western Stovalls Inn and enjoyed the walk to and from the park each day - we had a 10 day pass.

You have to try Coco's bakery next door to Best western Stovalls inn, they do the most amazing pies....OMG!!!!

To us, Aussie country folk, the park did seem crowded, but we did hear a couple comment that it was a quiet day.

If you have done movie world on the GC, it was busier than that, but not frantic, no push and shove hustle or bustle, no long lines either.

Weather was beautiful every day, beautiful sunshine, would love California's winter instead of our own :)

Have a great time.
