We will be driving into the Disney/Universal area on a Saturday morning. Would you go to:

A. One of Universal's parks,
B. Go to one of Disney's water parks, or
C. Go to one of Disney's parks?

Our plan is to go to MGM on Sunday being it was recommended by Tour Guide Mike, but we are really undecided what to do Saturday. We are staying on Disney at POFQ. I know you can check in early, but you can't check into your room until 3:00. The kids (ages 17,11,9 and 8) want to go to US one day during our five day trip so we don't know which day would be best. They also want to go to the water parks....sheez

The water park is a good idea. I wouldn't go to a theme park unless you are able to get there at opening hours or close to it. However, I alway avoid MK on a Saturday. I did this as a newbie and I'll never do it again! Also, we were able to check in to POR around 1pm this past Spring Break. You can at least leave your bags and have them delivered to your room while your at the Water Park. Enjoy!

A water park does sound like a good idea. Maybe afterward you could hit Downtown Disney or the Boardwalk for dinner and shopping to get into the spirit?

We are arriving on Saturday also to POFQ. Our plan is to swin for a bit then take the ferry to Dowton Disney for Dinner. Your kids might enjoy disney quest and the pool at POFQ look like fun as well!

But unless you have a thing for Sith lords and Lightsaders avoid MGM studios on Saturday and Sunday. Star Wars weekends seem to overrun the whole park.

So no takers on going to one of Universal's parks, huh? Maybe we should do the water parks on the weekends and enjoy the theme parks during the week. I would love to see the Star Wars stuff. Last year I had the author of the latest book sign it for us.

Watcher,
When are you going to WDW??? We are arriving on a Saturday in Sept and I checked out US website and they close early, I think at 6. Check the times at US because if it closes early on the time that you are going you might want to delay it for a "FULL" day there instead of going there when you get to DW. I hope that made sense to you..

Whenever we get to Disney it's usually around 11 am when we check into our hotel. We then leave our stuff and head over to MK. I usually leave the waterparks in the middle of our trip to relax and take it easy.

I would leave your luggage at your resort and then head for the waterparks. I'd then try to get everyone to bed early on Saturday night and arrive at MGM when it opens on Sunday. I think your party will be relaxed and ready to hit the parks hard after a relaxing day at the waterparks.

Jrabbit910,

We will be there beginning this Saturday through Thursday. I just checked park hours and Islands of Adventure closes at 8 p.m. and Universal Studios closes at 7 p.m. We could do one of those parks. However, I am wondering if they will be more crowded on a Saturday than some of the Disney parks or water parks.
