Arriving really early

We will be arriving at the wilderness lodge really early Saturday morning around 4 or 5. For those of you who have arrived early, what did you do or where did you go? We were thinking of taking a nap in our car or relaxing in the big comfy chairs at the villas.

Can't you time your arrival so that you get there at a time when you can actually check in (7:00am)? Maybe your room would be ready.

Can you time your arrival a few hours later? At that point if your room isn't ready you could at least use the amenities while you wait.

Maybe you could find somewhere for 24 hour breakfast and eat there to waste a little time.

That's what DW and I did one trip. We flew in on a red-eye from the west coast on the day in the fall when the time changed. We got our rental car and were out of the airport before 0530, so we stopped at a Denny's along the way for leisurely breakfast and arrived at POR right about 0700. Worked well for us, though the A/C in Denny's was very cold so I had to go out to our car and dig sweatshirts out of our luggage!
