Thanks in advance!

Question 1 - Our flight arrives at SNA at about 9 AM. Hotel check in is about 3. I think that we will either use Coach America ($80 round trip) or Karmel shuttle which is $46/each way. My sister and her family get in at about 9:30 but she's coming in at Long Beach. We want to do the "very first time at Disneyland" with the kids together. Husbands do not understand. so what would you for the 2 or 3 hours in between?

Question 2 - If you wanted to rent a car for a day or two, how do you do that
when you aren't renting AT the airport

If your hotel has a pool that should pacify the kids. You didn't mention what hotel you are staying at. If it is onsite there is lots to see at both hotels. Have a snack, take a swim.

Not clear on question 2 - the rental sites all list all of their locations incl off airport ( which can be cheaper since no airport facility charge). Some of the car rental agencies will even bring the car to you ( I think Enterprise or National advertises that). And some of the DL area hotels have rental desks.

For rates I always go thru Costco travel btw - seems to be far cheaper than anywhere else.

when we go (which was 2008) we always fly in the morning and usually do not go to the parks until the next day. We like to look around dtd , I also go grocery shopping to make sure i have the food and snacks that i want in the hotel. However we always rent a car because we have lots of family around to see while we are down there. Also try priceline.com for great deals on rental cars i got a great deal there last time i was down there.( which was early sept visting family not a disney trip). Go to name your own price.

Alamo car rental is in DTD by the DLH and DTD has lots to see and do!

Thanks in advance!

Wow! Where are you staying? If you are staying in the Anaheim Resort or Convention Center area, those prices are wayyyyy high. Check out these other two more affordable options:

Disneyland Express (Gray Lines - big bus) - $27 adult round trip / $18 child

Super Shuttle (vans) - about $10 per person each way.

If you do a search, you will also find a coupon for $3 off on the Disneyland Resort Express service.

Now, as far as the time difference - 30 minutes won't make much difference at all. After travel time from the airport, your parties should be meeting up within only one or two hours - time easily spent enjoying a meal or browsing shops (in the resort area or the airport).

Thank you all so much!

We are staying at Staybridge the first night 9hubby had points to use). Then HoJo, my sister is at HoJo the full time.

The prices I listed weren't per person, they were total for the group.
