Our flight does not arrive until 6:00pm, we are staying at the POP for our first night and I figure we will get to the resort and be checked in by 7:30 or so.
I know its late for a meal, but I'm not sure my mother will want to do the food court, and I do not want a big meal like Ohana (which is where I usually like to eat on my first day).
Should we eat in DTD or perhaps a resort restaurant. My mother and her friends that will be travelling with me will have a 6 day park hopper so a park restaurant won't do.
Any suggestions?

I read your post to my husband and we both said Boardwalk at the same time. You could do Spoodles you don't have to all order a big meal. We were there on Sunday for dinner and we ordered 4 tapas for the two of us and my son had a pizza. We were full when we left and it was not expensive. You could also go to the Big River Grill & Brewing Works.

It looks like you may be all adults, but if you want your first night to be a bit exciting maybe chef mickeys, you know just to get into the disney mood. Not like that is hard to do, we are excited just driving throught the disney world sign off osceola parkway. After a three hour drive we are all wound up and ready to have fun.

Enjoy whatever you choose, you are in the world afterall.

I am too not flying in until 6:00 pm also...We are staying at the BCV so we are planning to eat at the ESPN for dinner, that way you can have a heavy or light meal, then afterwards, we would be able to see the EPCOT show at 9 PM from the boardwalk. :D

Pottstown, now where in PA is that?? I am from Easton, border of NJ...We will be flying out of Lehigh Valley airport.

I had not thought of the Boarwalk area, we could do that with no problem and then get some goodies at the bakery for breakfast the next day! Maybe even go to Beaches and Cream for some ice cream.
Thanks for the idea!

BMWDSNY
Pottstown is about 45 minutes from Phila, about the same amount of time from Allentown

How about 1900 in the GF for a little Character Intervention and Buffet after a long, tiring day. The GF is beautifully decorated at Christmas and you both would love it sooooooo much.

I was going to sugges Chef Mickeys - nothing like starting off a trip seeing the big man or cheese himself. Then hop on monorail for wishes or a monorail tour of the lounges (poly & GF) I also like the Boardwalk idea. Either one you can't go wrong.

Beaches and Cream is a fun place. It is a lovely place, the CM's are fun and the food is good (if you have quick and casual vouchers it is a bargain to eat there)

If you are driving, I would suggest parking at Boardwalk (can valet park) and then take the boat over to the Beach Club. Have a nice dinner (or snack). After, go back to the BW and enjoy the nightly entertainment. You can also see much of Illuminations from the bridge between BW and BC areas.

And the bakery! YUMMMMMMM!

Have fun!
