Arriving late at MCO: Luggage/DME?

We're arriving very late (almost midnight), should we let DME handle our luggage or should we get it from baggage claim ourselves?

My MIL is also arriving late, but not as late as us, around 1030 pm. Should I suggest she get her own luggage or let DME deliver to her room?

The DME CM suggested to me that we get our own luggage, our flight gets in at 10:23 pm. If DME picks it up, it would be delivered in the middle of the night. If I asked them to hold it until the morning for me, I wouldn't sleep because I would worry that my luggage didn't make it from the airport...easier to get it myself!!

From what I understand the baggage sorting stops around 10pm (give or take an hour) - so it's *extremely* likely your luggage will not get to your room until the next morning.

If you can deal with that, then let DME handle your bags, otherwise I would get them myself
