We need to finish early evening at AK because we are meeting up with DS who will be finishing up his high school band trip. So I was planning on early afternoon arrival. Do we need FP+ during this time period at AK? Would we be able to ride Everest more than once in the standby line? My wait tolerance for lines is about 30 minutes. If we don't need FP+, I'll use them in our morning park before we hop.

How early is "early evening?" If you're not arriving until after lunch, that doesn't leave much time. The park does tend to empty out after the parade, but it would be 4:30 or after before you feel that effect. At that point, you could probably do Everest more than once with minimal wait.

Kinda depends what time of year you are going. When Is your trip and what day would you be at AK?

Unfortunately the band director has been vague about the early evening meet-up time. I am assuming around 6. Would do RD and lunch in our first park and then hopefully hop over by 1 (I will have a car) - so I'm scheduling about 5 hrs for AK.

We are visiting the last week of March so peak season - crowd level of 8 or 9 (depending on whose calendar you follow ;)) . FOTLK will be down so that takes a good chunk of time out. Our main attractions we like are Everest, Safari, Dinosaur, (maybe Kali) , the trails, Tough to be a Bug. Will probably skip Nemo this time. Would like to repeat ride on Everest and maybe Dinosaur. I like the parade too but willing to miss if necessary.

I did a few test runs on touring plans - and they were snug. I'd recommend getting the fastpass plus if you can - or eliminate a repeat. It's also going to be important which day you go - and how you prioritize.

But I've found that Animal Kingdom is better enjoyed at a slower pace. You may miss much at your required pace.

With only 4-5 hrs in the afternoon, I'd say you want to use your FP+ at AK. That week will be one of the busiest weeks of the year, and even AK will be uber-crowded. Without FP (legacy will probably be gone by then), Everest will probably be too long of a wait to do it standby. I doubt you'll get more than one ride even with FP+.

I guess we'll play it by ear and see how much we get done in the other parks. Also should be able to get a more specific pick up time for DS. I am running now on the assumption that I will be able to easily change my FP+ a day ahead and relatively easily change on day of:rolleyes1

We have four full days plus a few hours on arrival day. If we get most of what we want done, then we'll plan so spend the whole day at AK. We won't be able to hop to another park after meeting up with DS because he will have a special performer 4 day, one park per day ticket but we could stay in AK. But....it's my brother's birthday and I'm tentatively planning California Grill with Wishes.

We arrived to AK by noon and had 3 FP scheduled.

Dinosaur was the first one for noon. (then we walked on Primevil Whirl with a 10 minute wait.) by the time we got to Everest it was time for our 1pm FP time.- the stand by was 45 minitues

we then made our way to the safari for a 2:00 FP time and the stand by wait was 45 minutes.

We got outta there and headed to get a snack and get a spot for the parade.
then saw FOTLK.

Made out way to its TTBAB and see UP characters. it was not after 5 and time to head to the bus

We managed our day because of FP+- without that we would not have been able to get as much done.

With a later arrival I think your choices of FP will be severly limited
