Arriving at 11:30 PM. How does ME Work?

When we come to MCO, it will be 11:30 PM. Anyone know the procedures for ME during that time? Is it any different in your experiences than arriving earlier? Thanks

It works exactly the same at 11:30 pm as it does at noon, EXCEPT, you need to bring a carryon with stuff to go to bed and stuff to get up the next morning. Your bags will be delivered sometime the next morning. Call DME directly a few days before your trip to make sure they have your flight number. They only wait on guests after 11pm if they are in the system. So if your flight is delayed, they will wait on you and deliver you to the resort at any time.

Also, your trip through WDW might be a little more spread out. During the day when there are numerous guests in each area, they will try to limit the bus route to a small area, (for example, all of the All-Star resorts on one bus) but late at night there may only be guests at say Saratoga Springs and All-Stars (opposite sides of the property). One bus will stop at both locations. (Only an example).

Thanks for your replies. We had heard that we would have to get our own bags and take them to the ME bus ourselves b/c of it being that late.

Getting your bags will not take long at all, my father and I were just at WDW August 20-25 and coming to Orlando we choose to get our own bags. At most it took 15 minutes to get the bags ....if you are arriving on the "B" side of airport you get off your plane, ride the monorail, walk left down the escalator, grab your bags, take the elavator down one more floor ......and then you are at DME!!!

Enjoy!!!

Thanks I guess my question is though if we have the yellow ME tags on the bags, then how would we be able to pick them up ourselves? I thought if they are tagged, then they dont even go to the carousel?:confused3 Does that differ late at night that all ME bags would go to the carousel first? Thanks

You will have to make a choice as to what you want to do. If you put the yellow tags on your checked bags, they won't make it out to the public baggage claim area. They will be pulled right away, as they come off the plane, and put aside for DME delivery. But, that delivery could be at 2 am or first thing in the morning. Or, if you don't put the tags on your bags, you can head to baggage claim and get them yourselves. It all depends on what you want to do. If you pack your carryon with what you need for the night, early morning, you can have your bags delivered in the morning. If you go that route, just tell them at both DME checkin and at the resort at bell services that you want to have your bags first thing in the morning...around 7:30 (or whatever time you want).
But, you can't put the yellow tags on when you leave home and then change your mind to getting them at MCO baggage claim.

There have been a few reports that, late at night, fetching yellow tagged luggage from the carousels was occasionally experimentally made "possible" for the benefit of guests wishing to have their stuff sooner. Unfortunately the reports suggested that such pickup was "mandatory". According to my records, should this happen again, it would be "optional" and if the guest ignored any "mandate" and just proceeded to the welcoming area, that guest could still expect the normal ME luggage delivery to the room which could take place as late as circa daybreak.
