Does anyone know if you show up say 15 or 30 minutes after your ADR time will they still seat you? Of course I don't plan on this happening but I want to be prepared for the worst. TIA :)

I think the window is 15 minutes... after that, they may give your spot away, or they will try to work you in if they can, but if they can't, then they can't...

1) On a "normal" day, they give you a 15-min Grace Period.
2) But, this is totally discretionary at the eatery - they could give you none.
3) In busy/packed times, there is no Grace Period.
4) If you are late, the eatery can cancel your ADR.
5) They may or may not let you wait for an open table.
6) If so, there is not time frame - it could be more than an hour or so.
7) Best practice is to be 15-min early.

NOTE: There is NO good excuse for being late for an ADR. Some folks toss up "a broken monorail". Sure, that happens a couple times a month, but it is still no excuse. It is your responsibility to be on time. Being late is rude, and it is disrespectful of the restaurant and the other guests. And, host/hostess have heard all the excuses why people were late. What it boils down to is the folks did not plan their time, or they waited too long to get on a ride.

We always got the restaurant early for our ADRs. :) The best plan is to plan to arrive early. That way, you have wiggle room in case of an emergency.

That said, sometimes, despite the best plans, you may run a few minutes late. But I think if you had an emergency -- say your child fell and skinned his or her knee and you had to take care of that -- and were only a few minutes late, you should be fine. After all, we were never seated at the exact time of our ADR. We always had to wait a little bit. So you being a few minutes late would have no effect on other diners or the restaurant itself.

We arrived about 10 minutes late for our Rose & Crown ADR last trip (it was a late lunch ADR) & after some good natured ribbing from the CM we did still get seated.

Yes, it was poor planning on our part, but everyone makes mistakes once in a while. It isn't a habit w/us, normally we are 5 - 10 minutes early.

I would say much beyond 15-20 minutes is probably pushing it, but assuming things aren't crazy busy, and they have some leeway, the CM's will most likely try to get you in.

Thanks for the replies. I have no intention of being late but wanted to know if we were if we should scrap our plans or still try to be seated. :)

We had a LONG wait for a bus and then for monorail and was about 20 min late to Ohana last Sept during FD and thankfully they held our table, when I apologized for being later hostess said not to worry they wouldnt give away our ADR

We were 20 min late for dinner at Boma once and they said they could seat us a little over 2 hours later. No grace period for us that night!

We were 20 min. late for breakfast at Kona. We were still seated right away.

We were a little over 30 min late because of transportation problems and we had to wait for about 20 min but we were seated.
