arrive one day, ME the next?

We are scheduled to be at POFQ on 9/13-9/18. We are trying to use frequent flyer miles to get to Orlando, and it looks like the best times will be on 9/12, but I don't want to change the POFQ reservations, nor do I want to pay for an extra night there. Can I stay at an airport hotel on 9/12, and then take ME to POFQ on 9/13? Thanks a lot for your help!!!

Yes, you can do that. You are entitled to a ride from MCO to your WDW resort on your day of check-in, whether or not you flew into the airport on that day. Likewise, you are entitled to a ride from your WDW resort to MCO on your day of check-out, regardless of whether or not you are flying out of MCO on that day.

Please be aware though.....you will have to keep your bags with you. That is one part of the DME process that you can't avail yourself of. Your luggage will go with you to the DME checkin desk, and then be put underneath the bus you are traveling on. Otherwise, very doable.

So to do this, what info do I need to give Disney? Do I make up a flight time according to when I figure I'll arrive at the airport?

We were originally planning to do this same thing for our summer trip but our plans have since changed. I called DME to ask about the procedure and was told to call them ahead of time and make the reservation for the time we think we will be ready to head to our resort. No need to use fake flight information. I was told that we would have to carry our own luggage but I was planning on this anyway. Sounded like they get this request often.
