arrive at WL by bus or boat? BCV by bus or boat?

If you had the choice would you prefer to arrive at WL & BCV by bus or boat? We'll be leaving Pop to check in at WL - thinking of bus to MK and boat to WL
And leaving WL to check in at BCV - thinking bus to MGM and boat to BCV
Im planning on arriving by boat because there's less chance on return vacations that we would be using this method.
Which would you prefer?

Sounds good to me. I would almost be tempted to make a PS at Chef Mickey's on the day you move over to WL, have a late breakfast there and take the boat from the Contemporary to WL. When you move to BCV taking the bus to MGM would be fun. Only alternative would be to go to MK, and take the BCV bus from there. I would prefer the boat or even walking. The walkway would take you about 15 minutes and is quite pleasant.

I was planning on Chef Mickey's after WL checkin
Cape May after BCV checkin
(and Garden Grill after Pop checkin)

Have you stayed at, will you be staying at WL again? If you have never been I'd take the bus--you will enter through the front of the Lodge and be swept away from the sights and sounds. If you take the boat you will come off the boat dock and around the pool to enter the lodge--not as grand IMHO.

As for BC, the boat from MGM will bring you to the dock, walk around the pool area and into the rear entrance--right across from the main entrance and just as beautiful. I don't really think you lose anything here taking the boat.

I agree with patsal--if you have been to WL, the front entrance by bus would be my prefered arrival--you see so much more of the theming than if you arrive by the boat--it is a pretty walk, but not so inspiring.

we've been to WL a few times - VWL is our DVC "home"
we stayed in the villas this past Oct - first time to WL was 10/01 and yes the lobby definately blew us away! That stay was what made us become DVCers - also visited the Lodge in 02
just never approached a stay from the dock
actually now that I think about it by taking the bus we'd end up entering over by the shop/arcade as thats where the bus stop is located - up that walkway and turn left

this will be our first time staying at an EpCot resort

Your dining plans sound good. Some of our favorite spots!!! On a different note...have you had enough snow?? Do you think you will ever complain about heat again?! I know I won't.
