I can't believe I don't know this... But we are off site this week and DS and I are thinking of ditching the others and head to MK early one day. What time should we arrive since we can't use EMH?

Well, that's a very tough decision.

Frankly, visiting MK in the morning this week will be very difficult if you are off-site.

Parking can be a nightmare, and trying to get from TTC (MK parking lot) over to the MK gates
will be a zoo, especially due to the crowds of on-site guests trying to get into the park between 6:30AM and 8:30AM, and the thousands of OFF-site guests trying to line up for entry starting at 8:00AM... and the tens of thousands of guests, regardless of resort, just trying to keep their groups together.

If you arrive too early, you'll be in a quagmire...
If you don't arrive early, you could be in a serious traffic mess.

The MK opens to the public at 8. In the past the only way over that early in the morning was by ferry boat. I would arrive no later than 7:00 and stand all the way to the left at the TTC to get on the first ferry. I would make my way up to the front of the ferry to get off faster. Once you get across to the MK you can assess if you want to go straight through the new security check point right in front of the ferry or go to the regular one. You may want to do the latter since the AP tapstiles are all the way to the left.

We know, we are AP holders and come relatively frequently given that we live in VA. Really we are just thinking of going to get away from the family . What time will we be admitted and how early does the line build?

I'm not sure that you understood my post.

This might not always happen but the first ferry and first express monorail might be held back to arrive at Magic Kingdom about 15 minutes before public opening. (Leaving Transportation & Ticket Center ca 25 minutes before public opening.) If you got to TTC 25 minutes before public opening on a busy day, there might already be a second 700 passenger load and perhaps a third waiting to board the ferries and perhaps more than six monorail loads queued up on the upramps.

With two ferries the headway will be about 15 minutes. With 3 ferries docking becomes the limiting factor with a headway of about 12 minutes.

Are the running the express monorail in the early morning now? If so, I think the OP should take that since it puts her near the AP tapstiles.
