I am trying to plan our MK evening on a Wednesday in October when the MK has EMH until 11 PM.
I will be in an ECV so thinking I will need to take a bus rather than a boat to MK after HDDR - is that correct?
If the show is about 2 hours long, what would be the earliest you would be in the MK to plan FP+ for?
TIA

assuming water level in lake is normal you would be okay on boat.as for your FP+ question I would guess you would not be able to book as FP are not available for EMH. my guess is you will only have about an hour with 11pm close. assuming you are first out and at the dock just as boat leaves you might make it in to park by 930. from what I remember there are no buses from the Fort to MK other than the after show buses but not sure you will gain anything that way. with ECV you would be first on but you would be last off when you get to park. you did not ask but be prepared to go though Trails End to get in to Hoop Dee Doo

I'm curious - with the third show at 8:30, why do you think the OP won't get to MK until 9:30? Won't they be done by 8 at the latest? It shouldn't take even an hour to get to the park, even if they're not the first ones at the dock :confused3

Thank you for replies so far.
That is what I am trying to figure out. I agree the 6:15 should be done around 8. Is it even worth it to plan to go back to MK for an 11 PM EMH night? I planned HDDR for Wednesday just to be able to see the MK after dark - we haven't in years. We are BCV owners and most trips spend most evenings in EP or DS.
Just this morning I was debating moving HDDR to Tuesday and not going back to MK at all (MK Party night).
Anyone else with advice?

if I remember correctly HDDR show will end about 800/815 will take some time to get out of building and walk to boat dock and the trip to MK is about 20 from leaving dock. allow time to unload from boat and walk to gate or bag check it will be close to 900. so is the 1100 start of EMH or the end of EMH. only you can decide if it is worth going back to MK. if you can switch to Tues I would as my timetable is assuming you are one of the first out of HDDR and you get one first boat. having to wait for second boat you can add 20 to 40 minutes to your MK arrivial

I don't believe the second show ends that late. Third show is 8:30. Venue would have to be cleared and cleaned well before that. Guests need to arrive what, 15 minutes early? More likely it's over by 7:45, if not earlier. They wouldn't overlap guests leaving and entering.

last time we did last show yes we had to wait for second show to leave out and it did not get out until after 8. it was very crowded in the walkway

Sadly, for Mickeys Backyard BBQ, it took us almost two hours to get to the MK from Fort Wilderness via boat. It was absolutely insane. Both shows let out at the same time, and the lines were crazy. Then once we finally got on the (very crowded and very hot!) boat, we had to sit and wait for the electrical water pageant to pass in front of us. And then wait for some other boats to clear the docks at the magic kingdom. It was one of the most miserable WDW transportation experiences we've ever had.
