Are you allowed to check in with a package if all your party is not there?

For example, could my DD and I check in on Nov. 15th and start the package for all four of us (which would allow free dining), and then my husband and son arrive on the 16th?

TIA!

Paid dining, yes.

For free dining, no.

What you are asking is essentially to skirt around the rules in order to get free dining for your entire package on the last day of the promotion - I believe if I am reading it correctly, because you can get free dining for your entire stay, even if it ends on the first day of your trip.

Everyone has to check-in on the same day; there have been in the past where people have included "phantom" names on their reservations in order to get additional free dining credits or check-in an entire party early.

UHmmm...we did last year. Had to. dh had to fly in after because of work, the CM said that was fine, even made sure his flight info was in the system for ME...it's paid for - rack rate and tickets...no one's getting over on anyone??! And when you check in...only the person who made the reservation has to be at the counter. My kids, sit out of the way and crowd while I check in. No one asks if everyone in the party is here with you!

I'm actually not trying to skirt the rules--that's why I am checking on it. If it's against the rules, we won't do it, but as mentioned by the other poster, I will be paying rack rate for the entire family to be there that night, even though they won't be there yet.

Yes, I would like free dining for the length of our stay; that's why I would like for us to come on Thursday. But DD and I can get there on Thursday, and DS and DH can't. Obviously, I could check in and not tell them that DH and DS aren't there yet, but I won't do that (because I am honest), and I also assumed that if it was against the rules, that the ME transport from the airport wouldn't work for DH and DS.

Just wondering if it can be done. It sounds like the PP has done this with Disney's knowledge. If others have or haven't, I would love to hear about it!

I have done it too - my husband couldn't come for a day (might have been two) later and I checked us in and it was fine. This was for free dining in a September. He came via ME and I was all ready settled and ready to go when he got there.
