Arrival night plans

Our flight is scheduled to land 810 pm We are taking DME and I was hoping to check into BC and then uber to Ragland Rd for dinner. Does this sound doable timewise? All the parks close by 9 that night so Im not sure what else to do for food that late.

BC as in Beach Club? As in the one right on the Boardwalk? The Boardwalk that has a handful of sit-down restaurants?

Personally I'd just stay there - no need to go to Disney Springs, unless you really want to.

I don't like eating a big meal lat late at night, so if this were me, I would plan to go to the Boardwalk Bakery or the Boardwalk Pizza window. I hear the Boardwalk Pizza window has a new dough and the pictures that I've seen of it look awesome! So, we will be giving it a try during our next trip. You also have the option to hit the market places at BC and YC for grab and go items.

If you want to try for the Ragland Rd option though, it should be do-able. Don't plan on the DME getting you go your resort until at least 9pm (and that is only if all of the stars align just perfectly). Then, it will take at least 1/2 an hour (probably longer) to get to DS. I wouldn't make an ADR for this night, just in case there are delays somewhere along the way.

I wouldn't do an ADR. Flying late in the day or evening (especially during the summer months) is plagued with delays. But the time you get situated and get over to Disney Springs, it could be very late. I personally love Raglan Road, but I'd not chance a travel issue and possible cancellation.

You'd be lucky to get to Raglan Road by 10 pm. Are they still serving dinner at that hour?

If you really want to have a sit-down meal, I'd be inclined to take my chances with a walk-up at any of the many restaurants at Boardwalk, BC/YC, Swan or Dolphin. Otherwise, there are several places to graze in the area.

I agree with everyone else. There are plenty of sit down restaurants in the Boardwalk area. I’d pick one of them and not worry about getting to DS. Maybe you could try Beaches and Cream. It’s at the BC.

I agree, you've got a lot of options in that area, including the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin. Get there and relax without having to stress about making a dinner reservation.

RR stays open pretty late right? If that’s the case I think you’d be okay. You’ll probably get to the Beach Club (assuming no delays) around 9-9:30. After checking in and brining your stuff to your room let’s say it’s 10. If you’ve still got a few hours until RR closes you’d probably be able to do it.

Raglan Road closes quite late, so it's definitely possible. If you are tired, though, as others have said, I would consider simply walking to the Boardwalk and eating something there. ESPN and Big River take walk-ups, plus there is QS food and Ample Hills ice cream available. You would also be able to see the nighttime entertainment.

DS and Raglan in particular is definately worth the trip, but I'd probably head over there on a day I had a bit more time.

Stars would have to align magically, not merely perfectly . Plane landing at 8:10, if it even does, doesn't mean that's when passengers disembark. I would be shocked if the OP is at the resort before 9:30.

If you want to make a reservation at Raglan Road, do it through Open Table and not Disney. That way if you are later than you are thinking, you can call and cancel and not be charged a fee. HOWEVER>.. I can't see you getting to the BC before 9:30, then have to get to your room and all, and THEN to RR. It's going to be wicked late before you eat. I'd be tempted to just go over to ESPN and grab supper there; they are open pretty late compared to other Disney restaurants.

First time I took Magical Express (to the BWI), it took well over two hours from when we landed until we got there.

Arriving that late, I'd want to retrieve my own luggage, so that can take another 30 minutes. I say that because it can take 3-4 hours for them to get it to you with Magical Express, so it could very well be after midnight by then.

Then you may wait a while for the bus, then it's a roughly 40 minute drive. I'd check in, and want to get settled into the room. So you're talking pretty late by then.

I'd save Disney Springs for another day and just get dinner elsewhere. If it ends up being very late, Picabu at the Dolphin (a five minute walk from the BC) is open 24 hours.

This seems like the best plan of attack to me. If Epcot closes at 9pm on the night of your arrival, the Boardwalk restaurants that some have suggested like will be fairly full. One possibility would be the Ale & Compass lounge at the Yacht Club -- it shouldn't be too busy. They are open until 1am and have a number of heavier appetizers, such as the Hearth Oven 'Pies'.

That's nice to know, that the lounge serves so late. I'm pretty sure I read a dining report where the guests ate dinner there of heavy appetizers. They really enjoyed it, and the food looked yummy.
