Never been to Universal -we're just staying one night at RP and wondered what experiences people have had with dinner at the hotel (not Emerils) - I'm thinking we'll be too tired to do Citywalk

Emeril has a restaurant in the RPR called tchoup chop. We ate there for lunch back in Nov. and it was excellent and so was the service. Would definitely recommend it.

Well, since you said NOT Emeril's and you'll be tired--you may want to try Jakes or the Island Restaurant at the RPR.

You will probably need to stretch your legs a bit after a long day of travel. Why not get into vacation mode by strolling the path--the first place you will encounter is Margaritaville! I always have to start there to get into a vacation mindset. Remember to use your room key for priority seating at M'ville. If your table is not ready right away, set a spell at the Lone Palm and enjoy a Margarita or loaded Corona. That's not really like doing City Walk. ;)

We have made Emeril's Tchoup Chop our arrival day tradition for dinner. It is incredible and worth trying.

Jake's has excellent cheesburgers but I would vote for Tchoup Chop.

I vote for Jake "s. First trip we made to Universal we started at Jake's and returned many times during our stay. The staff there treated us like we were old friends of the family and the food was casual but great. If you just want a place where you can grab some great casual food in a casual atmosphere I highly recommend Jake's.

I vote for MARGARITAVILLE! I love walking down the path and coming out right by it. The food is great the atmosphere is great and the Margarita's are the best! My kids enjoy going as well, we go every year with our 3 rugrats and they have fun playing that ring game out front, and wearing the parrot head masks inside. They like the music and videos as well at the erupting volcano!

I will be there in 19 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Margaritaville sounds like the best idea. And I know I'll be ready for a Margarita! It says on the website you can call for priority seating - or do you just show your RPR room key as someone said earlier and that gives you some sort of priority? Or just relax with your margarita and wait your turn?

Tchoup Chop is fantastic.

Also RPR room service is excellent as well, especially if you just want to relax that night.

Islands (a buffet) has different menus on certain nights so guests don't have to have the same food. We found the food quite good.
