Arrival night activities

We will be arriving around 4:00 or 5:00 in the afternoon in December and staying at CSR. We will be hitting the parks the next morning, but can someone suggest what to do the evening we arrive? We will have our ten year old boy with us.

Go to Disney springs, walk around , listen to music and have dinner at raglan road.

Another Disney Springs vote - go to Goofy's Candy Co and build a treat; Hanes make-your-own t-shirt; World of Disney Store; Wolfgang Puck Express (our favourite quick service restaurant) or Earl of Sandwich is popular too.

We often go to the Boardwalk on our arrival night. We like to eat at ESPN (we are big sports fans), treat from Boardwalk Bakery, mini-golf at Fantasia golf course, ride the Friendship boat to Beach Club and get ice cream from Beaches and Cream; ride a surrey bike; sometimes evening entertainment (think jugglers, mimes). Low key fun, but gets us ready for our vacation.

We never do a park on arrival day. We always go to Disney Springs and have dinner at T-Rex.

I would get organized in room, unpack, grab dinner at resort, walk around and familiarize yourself with resort if you haven't stayed. Relax and watch outdoor movie, maybe a swim? And get an early night.
I guess it depends how long your flight is. We fly from west coast, direct flight is 6 hrs. Our flight leaves early morning so I have to be at airport by 5:00am. We land at 6:00pm and too tired to do much!

This is what we would do as well. I really enjoy the time getting to know where everything is at the resort and walking around CSR at night is beautiful!

If you are arriving in December, maybe head over to the Boardwalk and you can check out the Christmas decorations at the BWI, YC and BC -- and so the 10 year old doesn't get bored out of his mind by such "lame" activities (yes, I've heard that out of a 10 year old's mouth over similar activities), you could take him miniature golfing (I think that is still a "freebie" if you have a package), or have dinner at the ESPN zone.

Our flight gets in at 8:30 PM so we decided to crash at the Hyatt that night and head to the resort first thing in the morning. Our plan is to be in MK by noon! It'll be nice for us because we can grab a quick shower and go to sleep in "just a hotel room" rather than get to the CR around 10 ish and then go yay we're here ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz... Haha!

Nice dinner, lounge around the resort, use the pools.

We are getting in on a Friday as well and we have a park pass for it. I wasn't going to get a pass for that day but, they are doing the buy7 get 8th day free. We are just heading over to EPCOT for some dinner and drinking in the countries. If I did not have passes though, I would go to Disney Springs for sure and eat somewhere there. Most of the time it's Rainforest Cafe but with a 10yr old boy he would probably love TREX!
