The week before we go to WDW we are doing a non-Disney cruise that leaves out of Port Canaveral. The day we disembark we are planning on getting off the ship as soon as possible 8:30am?? We need to pick up our rental car and drive to BCV. I am hoping that we are checking in by 10:30am. We have the Fantasmic Dinner Package reserved for 4:30. I was planning going to MGM during the day. Is this a crazy idea when we are arriving on the later side? We are arriving June 27th if that helps. Would we be better off going to another park or doing something outside of a park? Thanks for your help! :D

It would depend on the ages of your kids, if any, and if it were me, I would plan it, tentatively, and if it doesn't fit in that day just do something else, what about DTD? Disneyquest? HTH

We wouldn't risk wasting a day's worth of park pass.........there is just no guarantee as to when you will arrive...............too many variables.........boat being on time.........getting your rental car on time..............having zero traffic..................smooth checkin.......

I wouldn't even go into a park on that day.......unless the $$$ you spent on the park passes is no object...........I mean, some people don't care, but hey, that's like $40+ worth of park passes.........and to get there at 4 or 5 pm...........not worth it to us....................

go see the hoop dee doo or luau....................

I wouldn't plan on getting to Disney until at least noon. These things always seem to take longer. You could have a wait to disembark from the cruise ship, a wait to get your luggage, a wait to get the rental car, and traffic getting to Disney.

All that being said, it may not be a "waste" to go to MGM that day (is there ever such a thing as a wasted day at Disney  ). What kind of tickets are you getting? If you're getting UPHs, then go and have fun. You've already paid for that day. If you have a PH or PHP, then you'll have to decide if it's worth using up a day. If you get to BCV by noon, you'll get to the park by 2:00 pm (plenty of time to make the Fantasmic Dinner Package reservation). How late is MGM open that night? You probably won't get to do everything in the park in that time. But, if you are able to hit MGM for an additional morning I think you'll be fine.

Thanks for all of your input. We have PHP that we already bought. I don't care too much about the money/wasted tickets. We are only going to be at WDW for 6 days if you include the day we are leaving. We will have park time that day. I just don't want to miss too much. I am planning to go back to MGM on other days so I am not worried about seeing everything. I think MGM is open until 9 that day so there will be some time. Too much to plan!!!
