Arrival day dinner

Hello! We'll be arriving Dec. 2nd at the airport about 5:10pm. I'm guessing we probably won't be at BWV until 7pm at the earliest. Does anyone think it's worth getting an ADR for Il Mulino that night? I'm wondering if we should just get something "quick" from the Boardwalk.

What are some opinions/suggestions? If we did go with the reservation at Il Mulino, I'd make it for 7:30pm.

Today, just a moment ago, there were 3 time slots open at Il Mulino for the early evening at opentable.com


I wouldn't possibly stress about a reservation's timing on arrival day when this tool existed.

Never eaten at the FL version of this restaurant but have at the NYC ones; great traditional Italian food.

I wouldn’t want to be stressing about making a dining reservation on a vacation. Flight, bus, hotel check in delays all can happen and having this look over your head would be a major stressor.

Someone who has 3 flights cancelled and missed a relaxing carriage ride at POR in 2016 and was stressed and irritated...

You can typically get day-of reservations at Il Mulino, however, if you want to pre-reserve, I would either call the restaurant or reserve through opentable so you can cancel without penalty if need be.

I believe you can reserve Il Mulino through Open Table. By using them, you avoid the potential no-show penalty.

I would not open myself to the stress. Travel days can be stressful, and in my experience the later your arrival time the more chance for any kind of delay, from touchdown to highway. I woudl see how I felt when I arrived and go front here. There is nothing worse than beginning a vacation stressing an appointment,

Thank you all for your thoughts. We've never eaten here before and didn't know if it was a "harder" to get or not. I appreciate the feedback. I think I won't be worried about it and will book through opentable.com

One more thought - this year they are opening a signature restaurant in the Japan pavilion. I don’t think anyone can predict what that may do to impact Mulino availability. Open table reservation would be the low risk option so you can hedge your options.
